Leaving a cat indoors all day is far preferable to letting them roam around outside all day.

Growing up, no one thought to keep a cat indoors, but cats also tended to disappear after a few years or came home injured. Since "pet parents" have started keeping cats indoors always, the length of time a cat lives has doubled. A cat who spends a significant amount of time outdoors unsupervised lives about 7 years. Sushi was 21 when she had to be euthanized because of kidney failure, and Taeyn was 16 (cancer). Sushi was originally allowed outdoors during the day, but after an overnight adventure where she was cornered by the neighbor's back door by a raccoon, she wasn't as interested in going out. The last half of her life, she was indoor only, and while she loved to sit at a window and look out, she didn't seem to miss being outside.

Ok. Um ... Off my soap box. Sorry about that. Once you see the light, it's hard not to get on that dang soapbox :wink:

Young kittens have a rougher time being alone all day, but older cats aren't really bothered by it.

@Satira, I had an outside cat that lasted 14 years but she got skin cancer...which is a problem in Australia. This cat is an inside cat not just to protect her but to protect the birds.

Tsuki so does not like her new collar. I think I'm going to need to get a smaller one that isn't as bulky as this one.

So ... this morning while I was in the bathroom, she grabbed the toilet paper package which only had two rolls left in it ... and hauled it down the hallway. I had to go snatch it from her and put it in the cupboard. Normally, I just leave the package on the floor and she ignores it.

I tell you ... there isn't a day where she isn't finding something else to make me nuts.

But, April makes her six months old! She's growing up so fast!

Good morning all...getting very excited here as Diva's almost there. Testers are in final phases...just waiting on a couple to give the final all clear of issues posts. Promos are almost done...I'm hoping to submit her to QA. I'm feeling very nervous about this though...

I felt that way with Nataani, too - especially with the kind of experience I had the *last* time I tried to step into the vendor's arena.

Try not to stress it too much, though... it isn't as scary as it seems.

After morning everyone Autumn has arrived in full. Only three nights after daylight savings ended I had three blankies and a quilt on my bed though the quilt got tossed off sometime in the night. And today I am in my warm dressing gown and slippers as I drink my coffee. But the sky is blue, the clouds are white and fluffy, the sun warm through the window, it's going to be a nice day.

So exciting, Pen, and I'm so pleased for you that Diva is very nearly ready for QAV. She is such a doll and peeps be gonna love her
