The Anchorage, Part 3

We had a wondrous storm all night, and it's still blowing. I don't know how long the thunder and lightning was, but it never got heavy enough to keep me from sleeping.

We're under a high winds warning ... with winds from 25 to 35 mph with gusts 50 to 60 mph expected into the afternoon.

Gosh Lorraine, and I get irritated when I get down to the lobby and realize I left my cell phone in my apartment. At least it's just an elevator ride back to my apartment. But, it often sets me back a good 10 minutes, so then of course, I'm late getting to work. Especially, as those days end up being the 40+ minutes to work rather than the 25 minutes.

Yep, it doesn't take much to put you 10 minutes behind time, Satira. I'm often being picked up and I don't like to be late when someone's doing me a favour. And those will be the days I forget something.

I don't like lightning when I'm aboard, not with the sticky up mast just itching for a strike right above my pillow. Glad yours didn't wake you.

We also had thunder last nite, or I should say very early this morning. Didn't see any lightning, so that's a good thing.

We're also under a high winds warning for most of the day today, and supposedly it's going to rain, again, tomorrow but a bit warmer than it is today. I really wish Mother Nature would make up her mind.

The lightning was fabulous. It lit up the entire sky. Normally, I tend to freak out a wee bit when there is like no counting time between the flash of lightning and the thunder. It seemed to be fairly close, but not right on top of us, so I just enjoyed the flashes and thunder. And the wind! I soooo love when the wind is blowing like crazy. I have a set of windchimes that is hanging just inside the balcony door, and they "chimed" rather constantly until I closed the balcony door this morning. As long as I was snuggled under my blanket, I didn't mind the cold. But once I was up and trying to work on Itarille Poses, the cold was just too much.

Since Tsuki is a Tree kitty, I got her a new plaything. I've already rearranged the panels several times and this is the design I like the best. (That's a partial glimpse of the wind chimes near Tsuki's head.) Until I move the windchimes, I have the unit positioned away from the wall. I tossed most of her toys inside, and she actually does like to go running and climbing inside the cubes.

She can run through the bottom three cubes ... which she does quite frequently. I put it together so that each level has one cube without a bottom so she can climb from level to level inside as well as being able to climb levels on the outside. A hammock came with the panels, but one of the straps is broken. So until I sew the strap back on, it's folded up and stashed inside a kitchen drawer. It also came with a scratching mat which she actually does use. That is, when she isn't lying on it.

That big old box in front of the stereo cabinet is the box my office chair came in. Eventually, I need to haul it down to the parking garage.

Hey that's pretty cool looking Satira. That's certainly nicer than any cat tree I've seen before.

Yep...so did mine Earl. If they can get up a cat can get down. One of my previous kitties used to love climbing up onto the roof of the house. She'd get up on the fence then on the garage and from there to the roof.

Love the kitty tree...but I would have called it a kitty mansion! It's like a little house.

Yes. It is like a little house!

Oh, and I had all kinds of excitement yesterday! Friday, Tsuki noticed the glass beads at the top of the shower curtain, so she climbed up between the shower curtain and the plastic liner. So, Saturday, I closed the bathroom door. First time I've done so since I moved in in 2006.

Well, don't you know it. The door was locked, which I didn't discover until I needed to use the bathroom several hours later. So, one call to emergency maintenance, and 30 minutes later, the bathroom door was open again. Fortunately, the maintenance guy reminded me when I called that there were bathroom facilities on the fourth floor between the pool deck and the exercise room. So, I rushed down to the fourth floor. Used the potty there, and was then able to wait patiently for him to get there. (He lives 30 minutes away)

Tsuki was in heaven because SHE had a visitor. Poor guy had a heck of a time unlocking the bathroom door because she wanted him to pay her attention, not that silly door.

Hey everyone :)

That is a fab kitty mansion, Satira! So fab I've bookmarked your post to show my friends ashore who have four cats. They would love something like that. But Bruin the Wonderdog would have to be taught it wasn't a tall toy for him to play with :D

A busy day ahead of me: taking of rubbish, fetching of water, checking out of books on the club shelves, and waiting on tide...a mad social whirl ;)

That is so cool. I don't know anyone with cats, but I certainly would suggest it if anyone asked. Most definitely different from anything I've ever seen before.

Oh and that hammock is just adorable. She'll love it when you get it fixed.

Same problem actually. And I've had two kittens before and a dog when I was younger. Kittens ruled the house and the dog knew it.
