Hey now. I'm 36. I'm still awake; going on two days now.

I don't care for loud music, though. Well, no. I shouldn't say that. Loud music is fine. But there's a fine line between rock, and just plain "noise."

Oh yes! Led Zeppelin, yes, Kings of Leon, yes, Foo Fighters, yes, Stereophonics, yes, and I have to say, not rock, but cos I just loved his music, Tupac, yes. But there's an awful lot of noes out there in pseudo-rock-land.

Pink Floyd was always good, I thought. Black Sabbath, Bon Jovi, Metallica, Iron Maiden.... I do like some of Eminem, Coolio, and yes, Tupac's music also. But Hip Hop/Rap is big on the Reservations as well... Frank Waln is absolutely amazing, but I doubt too many here will have heard of him before. He's a Native hip-hop artist.

I also remember Meatloaf with some fondness as well... Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails... LOL

Oh my, Black Sabbath in the 70's! They were so good, and Jethro Tull, Uriah Heep, so many goodies. Metallica, mmmm, never really liked Iron Maiden, Bon Jovi was fun, and he's got to have a picture in the attic cos he hasn't aged. The Who never lost their rock, and still get it on. I like Nirvana and Pearl Jam, Oasis (big bro Noel, Liam was and still is an ass), Gorillaz, Tom Petty, Huey Lewis, Bruce Hornsby, the Band, and homegrown, Split Enz, Shihad, Blindspott, Babysitters Club, Black Seeds, Feelers, Kids in Space, and good old Dragon. I really do love my music

Oh, I like a LOT of artists and styles... I really do listen to a very wide variety of music. I was trying not to overload with a huge long list! I can't function without my music! No, seriously... I've got some kind of music playing in my ear every second of the day... and when I sleep...

Geeze, I so remember a lot of those groups. My favorite groups were Queen, The Eagles and Santana. Talk about eclectic taste in music.

My rock choices run more towards classic rock like Rod Stewart, Bruce Springsteen and Eric Clapton, though I could throw Bon Jovi in for good measure. Sure I grew up on the Beetles and Elvis Presley (boy am I showing my age), but I never really got into heavy metal. That all seemed like loud noise to me. I never really liked rap or reggae either.

Then again, I also like classical music, but have to be in a certain mood for it.

Queen, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac...Rod Stewart but I also like a variety of music, The Corrs, Shania Twain(which still surprises me), Jazz, classical, celtic...

Just lately I fall asleep on the sofa a lot...I don't think it's to do with age more how tired the person is.

Oh yeah, I like Shania Twain. In fact, back in the early to mid-90s, when we still had a country music station, I used to listen to a lot of country music. I've even been to Fan Fare 2 years in a row, and met a lot of famous country singers. It was fun. Hot, as it was during the summer, but fun.

As far as jazz goes, I'm more into improvisational jazz, and one of my long-time web design clients is a jazz musician, so I've got enough of his CDs to keep me sated when I get into a jazz mood.

I like Theolonius Monk for jazz...if I'm going for rock it would have to be the classics like Chuck Berry and Bill Haley and the comets.

ABSOLUTELY!!! I grew up on Theolonius Monk Sr.'s music as our next door neighbor's son, who was 2 years older than me, blasted his music whenever his parents weren't home. My mother always knew where to find me if I wasn't in my room, and Joel's music was blasting through the walls.

Gosh, how could I forget Queen and Brucie Babe! Yep, listen to both of them heaps. Also prefer Don Henley's latter music as a solo artist to the Eagles now, Hotel California does to me what a fingernail on a blackboard does...I will crush small children in my rush to turn it off. And Shania Twain, that would be a nope, NOPE! I am afraid country music of almost allsorts brings me out in a rash and makes me want to poke my ears out with a stick. We have a country music festival in Paihia and one year I abandoned my full trolley of groceries in the supermarket cos there were c&w bands playing outside. So awful, I made a run for it. I NEVER go into town that weekend anymore, ever!

Well, I always liked the mainstream country artists, but we haven't had a country station here since '96, so the only time I listen to it is if I drag out some of my old CDs.

I like Don Henley's solo music as well, though I spent a summer down in North Carolina on trial, and the gal I shared an office with and I blasted The Eagles all day long . . . me during the day time, and she at night. IIRC, one of the attorneys wanted to put us on a plane back to NY before the trial was over because he was tired of hearing the same songs over, and over, and over, and over, ad nauseum, ad infinitum. Well, for him I guess, because we really loved their music.

I'm not normally a country music fan either which is why I stated that it surprised me but I do like her music...probably because I like what she is actually saying as much as the music. I do like celtic music and also filking. I was listening to some Mercedes Lackey stuff just yesterday...Yep I know I'm weird.

Hmm..... I can listen to a wide variety of music as well but can't stand most rap/hip hop as repetitive noises drive me nuts. It was kind of funny last Tuesday evening when I was working on the signs for the new sale and heard the station that the produce dept has their radio set to play a trance piece. Totally unexpected as they usually run pop, rock, rap, and some country in the evening as a 'hits" show.

Filking, that's a new one. Have to have a read about it. I like Celtic music too, comes of being Irish and Scottish I guess. I LOVE the bagpipes...they send goosebumps up my spine. And I like Irish tin whistle music. Plus I love the saxophone and wish I could play it. Eclectic as. Nowt so queer as folk

I'm not a rap/hiphop fan either except for Tupac and a couple of NZ bands...there was (and still is for me) something very appealing about his music.

My teaching partner can play the bagpipes...

I'm not in to rap either...
