The Anchorage, Part 3

Good luck for tomorrow, Pen, and commiserations on what you are and are not required to eat and drink. And yes, the wedding is done and dusted. Was at 2pm on Friday and went beautifully. The weather was fab and warm, the brides were both gorgeous and now are minimooning in Taupo, getting back tomorrow. I am off home Tuesday.

Had a great visit with Dreamer today! We had scones with jam and cream and fresh strawberries, talked and talked about DS and Poser and were each able to show the other something about our respective programs. Excellent!

Yep...from memory it definitely is Miss B.
It was for me the one time I had one except for one thing. The temperature the doctor wanted the room at for the procedure.
She is a big woman. Very tall, heavy boned, I suspect she is at least 170lbs healthy weight. For me that temp was too low. Even with socks covered by plastic booties and a blanket covering me I got badly chilled. I was close enough to hypothermia that it took two hours to warm up after I got home.

It is always very cold in theatre, its to help keep bugs from spreading (they don't like the cold).

I wonder if the reason I've never had this problem before is because those times I was always under full anesthesia. By the time I woke up I was back up to normal temps. On the other hand the anesthesiologist did make a comment about having lowered the temp for the doctor so I've always assumed this doctor wanted it even lower.

We surely will do it again, Dreamer!

This came up in my FB feed today, one time when being 'in the pink' is a bad thing! And in the pink we are :(

Glad you ladies had a good time, and no Lorraine, that map doesn't look good at all.

Glad you had a good time ladies and that the wedding went well.

My procedure went well, it pays to go private what took a whole day previously only took half a day. Still feeling groggy but I'm not hungry any more. ..

Thanks Rae, Miss B and Terre.

I have to say it's very different from my experience with the same procedure done in a public hospital. When I did it via public it took the whole day and there was a lot of waiting around.

Yesterday I arrived at 9am (just before as I didn't want to be late), they took details and then I was pretty much straight away taken to an area where I was settled, by around 10am I was in the procedure area and out by 11am. They only kept me about an hour an half to make sure I'd been able to eat and had no after affects from the anaesthetic. Have to say the worst part was the prep.

That's good, Pen, glad it went quickly and well.

I'm sitting at the bus station in Auckland with 20 mins till I board. Spent a couple of hours wandering up and down Queen St with my only purchase a needed power cable for my phone. So impressed with myself as most of the shops had huge sales and I resisted them all. Go me!

The Met Office have just put a yellow alert out for heavy snow in my area over the next few days! You never know. They could actually turn out to be right for the second time in the last seven years! :whistling:
