Wellington did get a lot of damage, I'm glad your friend is ok.

So here is New Zealand, the arrow pointing to the circled Bay of Islands.

And here is the Bay of Islands with the arrow pointing to a circled Opua

And the centre of the bullseye is about right where Sans Souci is :)

Aha! Thanks, I couldn't for the life of me remember the name of the Bay you were located in, let alone the City.

Those are pretty Kewl photos of Sans Souci. :D

Thanks, guys! Sans Souci is 40' and there are some biggies surrounding her. It's just started to rain here and it's blowing hard but I'm still hoping to get back to the boat when Dave and Carole get home this arvo. I'm pining for her so bad I can taste it!

And thanks from me Lorraine! A beautiful country but with a sting in it's tail, though I am happy to find our own Island Girl unscathed and undaunted. Love and respect to all those who have been affected! :grouphug:

Good! At least when it's us stranded, we understand what happened. (and in most cases, we chose to live in areas that are subject to things like earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, tornadoes, or Hurricanes aka cyclones aka typhoons ... but farm animals absolutely don't)

Glad to hear that you're okay Lorraine...didn't hear about it until after the Tsunamis warning was lowered. Like your veggies too! We have mandarins on our tree this year I just hope the birds don't get them all!! We have planted the veggies yet...

Oh dear. Spuds are so easy to grow! I've grown them in a deep bucket. Put about three or four inches of potting mix in the bottom, put three sprouting potatoes on that, sprouts upward, and cover with a couple of inches of mix. As the green shoots and leaves come through, cover them almost up, and continue until the bucket is full. Make sure to water and feed them, and dig them out when the leaves start to yellow. You'll get a nice lot of yummy spuds from just those three. Nom! I've even done six in a big rubbish bin, same principle.

I'm putting this in my novella! Thank you much! I may ping you for some growing tips on something else!

My grocer has Buddha's Hand Citron currently available. I debated buying one and trying it out, but I'm not really sure what to do with it. Other than as zest in foods or candied. Has anyone any experience with it?

I also considered getting one just for the scent. Why use chemicals air fresheners when you can use something like this!!! Or ... I could always stick it everywhere I don't want Tsuki ... since I imagine it's a citrus fragrance and like most cats, she hates citrus fragrance. I use Weleda Citrus Deodorant spray and if she's trying to attack my feet or hands while I'm getting dressed, I'll spritz my hands or feet with it. She leaves me alone then. In fact ... she flees the room!

Back on the boat! Arrived in the rain Tuesday arvo and have spent the last two days unpacking and cleaning and generally settling back in to boat life. Making chicken risotto with asparagus for dinner tonight, nom!

And here she is :) Google Earth can see her!

How cool is Google (Earth) Maps? I remember when my Pop wanted to know how it worked as I never wrote down directions anymore. He had this look on this face when i showed him from his car and then peeked in the neighbors backyard from a satellite.

"Hey, Pop! Did you know your neighbors across the street had a pool?"

"It does look the same but..."

"Pop, isn't that your car?"

He had this big grin on his face, told me it was amazing and then ordered me to install it in his car.

He doesn't go that far anymore but he's never lost.
