Now, before you get TOO excited, it's FreshDirect coleslaw. I've yet to really find a coleslaw or a coleslaw recipe I absolutely love. Or, maybe I just don't really like coleslaw despite what I remember when I was young.

Cantaloupe is Honey Kiss melon and Sugar Kiss melon. The Honey Kiss may not be completely ripe, but the Sugar Kiss is to die for. That is ... if you love sweet cantaloupe that melts in your mouth.

I like both kinds of cantaloupe actually. I am also fond of honeydew melons as well.
Coleslaw, I don't think I've ever had theirs.. I tend to make my own usually. My bunch loves it anyway. But I always try new stuff at least twice! Once to try and once to be sure.

Chocolate is good sometimes, but I find that more often than not it's just too sweet for me. I'm too used to living on wild gathered stuff, I think. Mulberries, for instance, are VERY sweet to my tastes, and most people find those to be much more mild than raspberries or blackberries. ;)

I've made both Coleslaw and Potato Salad using my mother's recipes, and the one thing I found with the Coleslaw was, the longer I left it marinating in the fridge before eating (a day or two), the better it was.

Yes! That is the biggest thing with coleslaw... I never make it less than two days before I intend to serve it.... it needs at least 48 hours to soak in all the flavors.

mmmm Rockmelon!

In theory I should like coleslaw as I like cabbage but I find the premade coleslaw here always has celery (I HATE celery, it is evil!).

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of celery either. My mom used to have a stalk with her salad, and just munch on It as is. Geeze.

I've found one or 2 stores over the years that sell decent coleslaw in their deli departments, but homemade is always best.

Peanut butter and celery? Not so sure about that Pen. Tuna fish, yes that I could probably see.

Nope Nope Nope - Celery is evil! Evil I say! Celery, Coriander and Capsicum should all be banned :p

(well ok, Cap and all things related to Chili I have an intolerance to, so it can maybe get a pass if left off my plate, but the other 2 YUK!)

I had my doubts until I tried it Miss B but it is really yummy. Admittedly I do like my peanut butter...

Oh I like Peanut Butter too. My mom used to yell at me when she'd see me liking my spoon, that I had just dipped into the Peanut Butter jar. I could eat it right out of the jar any time of the day. ;)

Me too but my favorite is on toast with butter or margarine...luckily I use a margarine that reduces cholesterol so I only have to worry about the weight.

I've ALWAYS loved celery with peanut butter. A stalk of celery is the perfect shape to fill with peanut butter.

I also like to chop celery up in tuna fish. But, that's about it. Raw with peanut butter or chopped up in tuna. Other than that, I probably would agree celery is evil  It certainly does not belong chopped up and cooked to a mush in a soup or stew or anything like that.

My current favorite though is apple and peanut butter.

I switched to Brummel and Brown for a while when my doctor was concerned about my cholesterol. Even though it was barely borderline. It was rather annoying that he immediately put me on medication. But I've been off it for some time now and my cholesterol has been fine.

I now use Kerrygold Irish butter.

I use the flora pro active with plant sterols...Flora pro-activ Light

When I last had my cholesterol checked it went down a whole point. I need to have it retested but it will be interesting to see what it is. Especially as I haven't been limiting my intake of foods with cholesterol in them.

I got my cholesterol down in less than a year after being put on meds, and my Internist thought I could stop it since I was doing well, but my Cardiologist wanted me to stay on it because I have a slight blockage in my Carotids, and the meds will 1) make sure it never gets worse, and 2) help clear out/dissolve the blockage that's there "over time". I asked him what he meant by "over time", and he said 5 to 10 years. It's been about 5 years since we had this convo, so we shall see how long it takes, if ever, to clear it all out. ;)

Needless to say, I watch the cholesterol in my diet, and the weekly exercise helps.

Brummel and Brown was the only alternative I found that actually melted. What I didn't like about it however, was that the toast tended to get a bit soggy.

Howdy folks, nice day in Opua here after some monsoons during the night. I only know this because of a/ the amount of water in my dinghy and b/ the amount of water that accumulated in the cockpit after the drain blocked. Put it this way, if I had a duck for a pet it would have been happily swimming in either ;) I have dealt to the cockpit (sorry ducky) but still have the dinghy to negotiate. Boating is such FUN!!! But of course the reason I didn't hear all the rain is I was sound asleep, in the arms of Morpheus and had a bonza night in my own bed. No Joycie to wake me, no cars, phones, people knocking at the door...bliss. There's no place like home!

I don't do cholesterol tests so I've no idea what mine is. And I eat only NZ butter, full cream milk, full cream yoghurt and hope to die fat and happy ;)
