Thanks... I've always gone under my real name, but when moving to Hivewire3D, I added "Songbird ReMix" to my credits, simply to help customers who know me for my birds rather than me. The "Nature's Wonders" line was created to house my non-bird items in, like the New Zealand plants and my moths. I'll eventually be adding other flora and fauna to that line.

Songbird ReMix birds have come a long way since 2003. I've reworked that poor model twice trying to get more out of it while preserving it's compatibility with the massive library it supports. I've been considering a third reworking but with my Asian bird project looming, I'm probably going to put that off for now.

sooooo which would/should I use on my website art pages and at my Rendo Gallery? hmmm or maybe both? - Songbird Remix- Ken Gilliland ?

and here's another question for you, Ken... just HOW DOES one pronounce Gilliland? It's a real challenge to remember how to type your name with my dyslexic brain, especially when I've never heard it pronounced! (that I remember anyway). :)

Most of the crediting goes to "Ken Gilliland"

How does a Gilliland pronouce Gilliland? "Gil-leh-land" :)

Gilliland is a Scottish name and means "the tender of the land", Kenneth means "handsome" so I guess I'm the "handsome tender of the land" ;)

ROFL!!!! but that's NEAT!!! Scotland is such a beautiful (giggle fit...handsome??) interesting country ....I've been learning a lot more about it's history from Outlander and from an older Canadian series ABOUT one of the early Scottish settlers to the USA called The Campbells (very good family TV series!)

Also I loved the BBC series (Monarch of the Glen) about a Scottish family and the "Gilly" that took care of their land/wildlife/hunting etc... So your name must be connected to the Scottish term FOR tending the land that the Gilly then tends... (brain getting a bit tangled!) LOL!!

Do you have a family crest?

Wow, that is one amazing bird, so elegant and sleek.

I do like a red tartan myself. My maternal grandmother was a MacKenzie and their tartan is green.

oh that's so neat Ken... you ought to put a bird ON the crest too. :) (yes, then it would not be 'authentic' but it'd still be so neat!)

Actually in some of the variations of that coat of arms there are 3 birds... I just posted the "most" recognized one

Don't you mean ABOOT, Lynn? :D

I used to talk on skype every day with a friend who lived in Canada. Loved when he'd say aboot.

Oh Ken! The Agami Heron is an absolutely beautiful bird. Yes, yes, yes. Definitely needs to be added to your To-Do list.

Audubon is running a feature on the Agami Heron.... it's a spectacular bird and one I definitely have to add to my "To-Do" list.

I'm busily working on the first of my Asian bird volumes...

Originally, I had hoped to have all 3 volumes done by the end of April but I think that's a tall order now. One of the reasons is because I've decided to "modernize" the base CR2 and models used. The modernization will include moving the majority of the controls to the BODY section as my newer model have, enforcing limits, removing most body part scaling, and adding/cleaning up some small geometry issues and morphs. The trick is going to be keeping the compatibility with the older sets. I think the solution will be two-fold; one is to include a legacy settings "cleaner" pose that will return the model to default with the old or newer cr2, and also to keep the older morphs "unhidden" in their various body parts in a "legacy controls" group folder. The CR2 bases that will be modernized first include Songbird, Parrot, Woodpecker, Game bird, Kingfisher and WF4. As always, I strive to keep compatibility in my products.

What birds will be included in Volume 1? Well, as with my Australia sets, I'm going in ornithological family order so the first set will span a mix of wading birds and cranes, game birds, parrots, cuckoos, swifts, trogons, kingfishers and bee-eaters.

Here's the very rough draft of Volume 1... there are currently photo placeholders for my rendered illustrations of the birds.

For now, the Oriental Stork graces the Volume 1 cover...

Wow! If I bought Songbird at Daz will I be able to get the update or will it be part of the new product? Sorry I'm brain dead and it's making me confused...
