• Welcome to the Community Forums at HiveWire 3D! Please note that the user name you choose for our forum will be displayed to the public. Our store was closed as January 4, 2021. You can find HiveWire 3D and Lisa's Botanicals products, as well as many of our Contributing Artists, at Renderosity. This thread lists where many are now selling their products. Renderosity is generously putting products which were purchased at HiveWire 3D and are now sold at their store into customer accounts by gifting them. This is not an overnight process so please be patient, if you have already emailed them about this. If you have NOT emailed them, please see the 2nd post in this thread for instructions on what you need to do

Refining Our Direction at HiveWire 3D

Where We Have Been

We are grateful for the support of artists of all kinds who have joined us as customers, contributing artists and friends who in various ways have influenced and assisted our HiveWire 3D community to grow.

It's been over five years since we launched with the Dawn of a New Era. Since that time we have realized not only a new female figure, but also a male figure, a baby, a female anime figure, a male giant, horses, big cats, domestic cats and dogs that all work in both Poser and Daz Studio.

Together, we have created an asset library for our own HiveWire figures while also supporting legacy figures such as Daz’s Victoria 4, Michael 4, Genesis, and older Poser Only figures such as Suzy Q and the Dude. After much consideration we have come to the conclusion that we cannot fully step into the future while we remain tethered to the past.

Going forward from here we will be refining our focus to be primarily on our HiveWire Figure Collections which include our HW3D human and animal figures, Songbird Remix, Nature’s Wonders and Lisa’s Botanicals. As such, we will be retiring certain products and also modifying the types of products we will accept for inclusion in the store.

  • We will no longer be accepting products for Victoria 4 or Michael 4 and will be retiring the products in our store that are for V4 and M4.

  • We will be retiring products for Daz/Poser figures unless the product also has a version for our HiveWire figures such as Dawn or Dusk. Note: There will be a few exceptions to this that will be staying in the store.

  • We will no longer accept products that are made exclusively for Daz/Poser figures, however we will accept products that include versions for both the Daz/Poser figure AND one of our HiveWire figures.

  • We will no longer accept Bryce products and will be retiring Bryce products that are currently in our store.

  • There will be a final chance to purchase retiring items before they are removed from the store.
  • We will still be accepting environments and props that are not figure specific.
Where We Are Going

Collectively, we have many exciting things coming in human, animal, bird and plant form and will be continuing to support artists such as Ken Gilliland (Songbird Remix and Nature’s Wonders), Laurie Prindle (CWRW), 3D Universe, Ken1171, Satira Capriccio, Sparky, Pommerlis, NapalmArsenal, Virtual World and many others who create quality content to share through our store.

Chris Creek has started pushing points around to optimize our Dawn figure for a Dawn 2.0 release. His focus is on optimizing the mesh to achieve a pure quad mesh that can be subdivided as needed, as well as providing topology that will support a more sensible body grouping for rig support.

We have recently released our Mule Deer Buck which will be followed by an Antler Pack add-on and Doe and Fawn options for the Mule Deer. Laurie Prindle (CWRW) has created several deer breed texture maps including White Tail, Fallow Deer and Red Stag and there is also a Fantasy Antler pack and Silver Stag textures in the works, as well as LAMH presets.

Ken Gilliland is working on updating his Songbird ReMix library with full support for both Daz Studio and Poser. His new and updated products include a new file structure with native versions for both Daz Studio and Poser. Updates are also available to those who may have purchased Songbird ReMix items before they were available at HiveWire 3D. Ken is also filling out his Nature’s Wonders library with various species of insects, reptiles and amphibians and their habitats.

Ken1171 is showing the morph capability of Dawn SE in his own unique way with his Body-Type Morphs. There are 8 Body-Types to choose from so far that range from slightly curvy to voluptuous with more to come.

Many of our Contributing Artists have “Work In Progress” threads that can be found in our Show Me the Honey forum where you can see how development on a project is going. All are invited to become part of the creation process itself by following along with encouragement or offering your feedback for consideration.

It is important to us that we continue to create 3D assets for Poser and Daz Studio that are easy for others to use as well as easy to create supportive products for. As such, we invite each of you to share what you require in the 3D content you purchase. We can’t promise to deliver every requested option, however, we can promise to do our best to deliver something you can work from to achieve your own creative visions.

We look forward with excitement at all we have in progress as well as all that we have planned and invite you all to continue along on this journey of creation with us.

Tell you what. Art_of_Mind will transfer all rights to all the products owned by multiple parties, removing the Art_of_Mind name from them and leaving it's ownership to the joint creators. Makes sense right? This way those other creators can decide if they want to update the products or not.

The old Art_of_Mind products owned completly by Art_of_Mind, higly doubt they will get updated on this end. We're good on this end with the decision to remove them from the store; they're not selling anymore.

Any date for when the old stuff will be coming down? Things are tight right now and I'd like to able to budget in advance, rather than find out on same random day that I was too late. That just happen again on another site just a few weeks ago. :/

With Content Paradise closed and now this move by HiveWire, my days as a content seller are slowly but surely coming to an end. Shame, because over the past months an enormous wealth of poser/daz content from various sellers has disappeared. Renderosity isn't an option for many of us, since they're having ridiculous pricing to favor their top sellers only. Even though I haven't made much content in the past 2 years, until the end of 2018 I was still selling 10-50 items each month from my various stores. There was and is a market for smaller vendors, but not a marketplace who welcomes them anymore. Sad. I've still got some unfinished content I'm working on when I have the time, all of that I'm simply going to scrap now and focus on my art completely now.

Sorry to hear that Benjamin, but you have to do what's best for you, just as HiveWire's decision is what's best for them.

Have you tried selling at Hivewire?

Yes, if you look to the left of his post, where his Avatar is, he's a Contributing Artist, so even though he doesn't currently have anything in the store, he must've been working on products for release in the HW store. It's possible they're not products for any of the HiveWire family of products.

Any of my products that are scheduled to retire that are not already at Rendo will not be moving - they will become unavailable.
I have not had the time for art or 3d, and my days as a vendor were already numbered.
Get them while they last.

Okay, so I'm still not understanding. Why not make something for the Hivewire figures?
I have a number of Hivewire products, I just haven't made anything new for a while for a lot of reasons.
I have no time for art or 3d right now and am in dire financial straits - which means no software or hardware updates, no product purchases, etc... I do not support P11 and already more and more products are p11 specific, and I almost guarantee that Dawn 2 is going to require P11 or better so that pushes me out right there when it happens.
Those products I have made for Dusk and Dawn just have not sold well because the community for Dusk and Dawn is rather small, unfortunately (or I am not very good).
Given I have not had a place to set up my workstation since December and I am dealing with too much in Real Life following my father's death I have been unable to even finish the products I have had in development for the past year - by the time I do get a chance to finish them they will be obsolete.
Couple all of this with deteriorating personal health, loss of interest, and unhappiness about the state of the software and the community and...well...days as a vendor numbered.

At this time I have neither the time nor desire to find new homes for products once they retire. For many of mine, they have already been reworked and moved 3 or more times (RuntimeDNA, Content Paradise, Yurdigital, CGBytes...) so when they leave here they will not resurface.

At this time, to my knowledge, my products for Dusk, Dawn, the Gorilla, Creepy Kid 2, some backdrops, and a few others will still be here.

Glad I was pointed to this thread. I've been in a funk these past few months, no muse anywhere in sight... so been TOYING with the idea of updating my current Tina and Tommy with Poser settings... although with the coming Dawn 2.0 perhaps I'll hold off and recreate the morphs for her and eventually Dusk 2.0.... I need something to inspire me and right now... not much is I'm afraid......

I think waiting for Dawn 2.0 (and eventually Dusk 2.0) to update Tina and Tommy for Poser is a good idea Rich.

Ohhhh, and I know what you mean about your muse disappearing. I spend a lot of time beta testing, but not enough time creating, even just scenes to show off what I've been beta testing. ~shakes head~

I'm not a vendor either. Here or there. Vending sucks.:sneaky:;)
Making stuff is fun. Making sure it works the way it should in the various rendering engines can be daunting but the sucky part is submitting to the store. Fixing issues and doing the promo's. Alisa is very strict, in a good way but so are the heads at 'Rosity as I found out. So that's the sucky part of vending or as I like to call myself a "published artist" :) ;)

Seems it is a GOOD idea to be fussy blut the products one offers and then market. The better the prodct the better its reputation for artit and distributer. Also don't forget to really sell a good product you gott take the extra time and effort to create equally good marketing tools including the renders etc. Aferall, if you are not particular and detailed about the markting what impression do you create for the quality of the product in the mind of the prospective consumer?

Hey, I get you, and understand you 100% in this choice, and I don't blame ya even a little bit!

With the now huge numbers of different Figures, I personally think this is very reasonable.
