Music From The Hive

Brilliant
Here's a cover performance by Stephen Bennett of Blackbird. I his CDs Stephen Bennet Beatles and Even More Beatles. Great instrumentals if you want some background music while you are doing other things. On the second album he plays several on a harp guitar. Great sound.
This cut is on a standard acoustic guitar.

Hope you enjoy.

I dunno! Spike Milligan could have brought a whole new interpretation to a sequel...Just think of Henry Crun and Minnie Bannister in that potters wheel scene!

Hmm. Maybe they should use crow's heads as the knobs. :D

The heraldry description of our family coat of arms is: "sable fesse or with three croughs heads."
Translated: Black (sable) shield with an ordinary of a broad horizontal bar (fesse) that's gold (or) with three crows heads.

Always liked this music, it was ahead of it's time in the 80's. I wanted to link to the video, but the video contains language and visuals that would be inappropriate for the forum (being it's from a horror movie and all).

I enjoy people who cover various artists. I found this interesting arrangement played on a 12-string guitar of the Doors

Riders of the Storm

She also has a decent version of Norwegian Wood (Beatles cover) .

Hope you enjoy them.

There are particular songs I am drawn to because I find the lyrics haunting in some way. I have always been fond of this one, far more than it's much more popular namesake by Pink Floyd...

Was killing time waiting for some lighting tests to finish and stumbled on this gem that took me way back - haven't heard this in a long time and had completely forgotten about it:

The Travelling Wilbury's - Probably the ultimate super5 group. The band lineup alone gives your heart a boost, especially as it included the golden voice of Roy Orbison and gave him one of his greatest songs...

Remember Ellen Alaverdyan from a few posts back? This is an update from the talented young bass player and her second collaboration with KIDS. Brilliant so see super-drummer Yoyoko in the line up too. You coulddn't ask for a more solid backing!

Been getting reaquainted lately with some oldies but definitely goldies. First up is the much under-rated Mike Heron formerly of the ISB. Evie features Melanie on backing vocals. Next up is Longer from Dan Fogelberg!

I remember Melanie...I have a couple of her albums. Candles in the Rain, and the one with Animal Crackers.

Another much under-rated artist, think everyone knows her cover of Ruby Tuesday. This is my own personal favourite of hers...

Pebbles In The Sand. Such a simple song and yet so full of yearning.
