Thank you Jane at Filter Forge for co-sponsoring this wonderful contest again this year. I didn't reach out to her til just before the contest began, and she replied soon there after and is STILL willing to participate in a big way. They are donating 3 copies of Filter Forge 7 Professional which retails for $399 each.

Awe the prize packages are pretty major now folks. Please don't miss out on this opportunity to participate.

Yes, I've been a Filter Forge user since version 1, so DEFINITELY a big plus for the winners.

Actually, if you wait a couple/three seconds it redirects to Ken's site.

I think I might have a go at this one, just to join in the fun!

Me too. School is finished for summer and I have time to spare, so I may as well have some fun with this. But first things first, I need to go and buy some of Ken's birds over the weekend first, and it's so hard to choose from them as they are all so excellent!

Yes Bonnie, the man is a master when it comes to birds. Oh, and don't forget to look at his Nature's Wonders goodies as well, as some will make good scene fills. ;)

Thanks Miss B. I've spent the last hour looking at reference images of birds to inspire me and one or two kind of stood out from the rest, so I know what breed of bird I want to buy. :)

I thought I'd introduce one of the judges from Audubon. Meghan Hertel is the ‎California Director of Land and Water Conservation for the ‎National Audubon Society. She served as interim State co-director for Audubon California last year and was also one of the 2017 contest judges. Thank-you, Meghan!

Ahhh, I was wondering what was causing that, though I waited only a couple/three seconds, and it redirected me to your site, but to the main page of your site, and not the one you just linked to.

Interesting some of us choose to go the pollution route instead of the usual.

Hi everyone, my name is Tori and I’m a staff member from Smith Micro. We are excited to co-sponsor the 2018 Open Rendering Contest and look forward to providing the winners with Poser software. Good luck to all of the entrants!

Welcome to Hivewire, it is great to see Smith Micro, Filter Forge and Renderosity giving support to anything in the 3d art world but especially in conjunction with Hivewire.

Yes, that is interesting, especially the plastic shopping bag draping over your bird's head. Even the expression on his face looks angry.

You folks are getting the message across, that's for sure, and it's going to be interesting to see what future entries have to say.

... probably because there's been a lot of news about plastic pollution this year. That might resonate with the judges too-- doing good art that carries a message is always a bonus.

I might be mistaken but I think "Taking Off" by Anniemation is supposed to be an animated entry... but I don't see the link to the animation included.
