BACKGROUND:
This is a conceptual drawing for an alien race from "War In The Heavens: The Ambrosia Chronicles". I want a truly alien appearance, something that absolutely can not exist on Earth, as well as something unique from other sci-fi genres. This is the prototype, and I am quite happy with the head, but I may have to change elements of the body. I envision the overall color of the carapace as either black, or a very dark blue, with the markings being "cut in" to the shell, and the markings will have a luminous quality about them.
This image was created with a combination of a .05mm core Technical Pencil, and Prang colored pencils. The image was created on a medium tooth drawing surface, found in a leatherbound, Tara sketchbook. The original image is 8.5 x 11 inches.
