And I now have the close-up bumps set for the torso and limbs. This was rendered at 900x900 pixels, which I think is a decent size. The materials do hold up mostly decently at about 1100 pixels, but much more than that and folks can expect to have to do a little bit of postwork smoothing out bits and pieces of the skin. There's just nothing I seem to be able to do with that. The texture maps are 4096x4096 pixels already, I can't go much higher than that in size. LOL

Anyway. These are the closeup/portrait view bump mats, completed for head and body both. Used the full beard option, clean skin option. I think I'm happy with these now. :)

I'm going to finish getting the last of poses and Library thumbnails done, and then he'll finally be ready for Beta. :D

Yep the face is looking good! Have you got Adam's white lights Seliah? They are good for testing mats...

Here's a view of the hands/feet as well with the closeup/portrait bump settingws... fairly close camera angle; the images were rendered at 900x90 pixels.

Yes, I'm actually very glad to be this close to done with him. ;) He has to get through Beta; it's entirely too easy to goof up a texture reference or miss a seam somewhere, so I definitely want a fresh pair of eyes to run him through his paces. But he's almost there. ^_^

I have no idea what lights you mean, Pen, though I have a pretty standard white light preset that I use for things like this. They do a fairly good job of lighting everything so that you can see things like blurry texture areas, or mis-matched seams and such.

The hand and feet/leg textures look really good close up Seliah, and yes having a fresh pair of eyes is ALWAYS a good thing. That way, when he gets to QAV, he'll pass with flying colors. ;)

Ouy! Last minute seam fixes! *bangs head* I forgot to check the fingers/thumb seams... LMAO

I'm glad I spotted it now. >.> Was only on the dirty skin map for the hands, but still! And here I thought I was finally done chasing down seam problems with the dirt maps... HAH!

Break time for lunch, now that I've got the hand seams behaving like they should. :blossom:

Wow. Okay, so far I am really impressed with how closely the UVs for our figures are laid out! If I had been doing this with M4 or V4 presets, I would have had a ton of fiddling to do to get things in the right place!

I did a quick and dirty (no pun intended! LOL) test of the overlays on Luna this morning. And so far, there's only been a couple of the splatters (arms/legs) that needed a very slight positioning adjustment inside of the layered editor. From what I can tell, at least on Luna, there does not seem to even be any need to re-scale the splatters as they are loaded. They seem to scale down to Luna just fine when loaded. This is how the presets look on little Luna...

Someone needs a bath.

And one in just the diaper, so you can see how the rest of the body looks...

Please ignore the yellow/orange-ish tone to the skin. The skin was a very early WIP for Luna that I have not yet gone in to continue working on, so I haven't yet de-yellowed the overly yellow and orange tones.

So... preliminary assessment on the LIE presets - I think these will come together pretty quickly. They don't seem to need a lot of fiddling to work, at least on Luna.

Okay - going back to finishing up Nataani's poses now. :)

Looking good...love the dirt on Luna. I can't wait to try it on Diva...

I got them a while back...they're by Adam and they're white lights specifically designed for testing mats. Someone suggested them to me when I was doing a lot of work in Shader Mixer. If you have a standard set of white lights they probably do the same function which is good because I couldn't find them on his site when I looked just now.

Just found it here. It's in the first post...

Thanks for the link, Pen. That explains why I didn't know about them... I generally avoid those forums like the plague except for occasionally going over to there to announce a freebie.

I'll take a look at them. :)

The LIE overlays might actually work up a lot quicker than Nataani did, honestly. I want to get him through QAV first, but fleshing out the pack for our girls shouldn't be too much trouble, either. I can't see it taking as long to complete as a full character set, honestly. So hopefully you'll be able to take Diva out to make mud puddles sooner than later. :)

At one point it was home for me...but I much prefer here now. I still visit from time to time though and there is lots of useful info over there.

That's understandable Seliah...Nataani should take priority. Diva wants to play in the puddles...

Same here, Pen. The very same, though I don't really "visit" a lot over there anymore, I do occasionally go in and read specific threads if they're helpful to me.

Yeah. I'm almost to the point of putting the call-out for Beta with him. Almost there! I'm working on the final pose as we speak. :D

I promised to put one of these up, so here it is. :) This is the comparison between Nataani and our default "out of the box" Dusk. Nataani on the left, default Dusk on the right. Same pose, same textures/hair/shorts.
