The Anchorage, Part 3

Yep busy as a bee in a hive lol. Realized last night I only had 48hours till we are off for three days to a medieval fair and none of my sons stuff fits, all mine is too hot and the tent is still in pieces in the kitchen:eek: I thought I had another week
Got friends coming over for dinner later and I need to get the house looking less like a tip and make some food for the fair too

Afternoon Miss B. I trust the weather in the Big Apple is behaving itself, or failing that, you have a ready supply of hot chocolate to keep you warm! :coffee:

With your weather Rae, I shouldn't think you'd need it! I see you more as sitting on the veranda with a tall, icy glass of Mint Julip (I really, really hope I spelled that right!) in your hand! ;) :sun:

Hey Mytho. Weather's very cloudy with some rain, but it's not too cold, so comfortable. No need for the hot chocolate at the minute, though I could sure go for the taste of it. ;)

Morning Pen! I must confess you have now got me completely baffled. I just clicked on your name and the pop-up says you live on the "outer edge of insanity", so I clicked on that and Google came up with a map of Barrow-in-Furness* which is around 16 kilometers from here as the crow (or seagull, etc) flies. That means I could practically wave to you from here. Whereas reality tells me you dwell in the Antipodean regions which means 1. you wouldn't see me, or 2. I'll need a heck of a lot longer arm! I think I will go and have a nice lie down for a while!

* Not totally surprising for Google. I once typed in Morder and it presented me with a map of Morecambe! The mind boggles! :speechless:

:rofl: I was born in Coventry...does that count? Mum comes from Lancashire and Dad's family moved around a lot but they met at Weston Super Mare...dad tells a story about how he built a raft and went to sea with a bag of lollies when he was young...

Hey everyone! Four long days without internet access are over and I'm back to normal, constantly picking up my phone :) We've had some real hot days here and luckily no fires up here. Not so lucky further south with the Coromandel losing some houses and a fifty year old commune today. There's another fire threatening homes in the Waikato, not near my sister's place thankfully. But we desperately need rain and we may get a sprinkle tomorrow.

I think we have, Pen. My daughter had been pining for Melbourne then saw it was 13*C there last week and suddenly she's happy with the Gold Coast again :roflmao:

Yep...it's definitely been a coolish summer so far. We've had a couple of warm days but nothing extreme.
