I wouldn't worry about a similar origin as long as the person is otherwise very different. So many heroes and villains have been done by now you probably can't come up with a new origin.
Then there's Beast. He did a genetic experiment on himself which turned him furry and blue and the some years ago it looked like they had changed his origin so he started that way.

Oh they are pretty different alright. So know worries there.

Did you know they changed Wonder Woman's origin? Before she was made of clay and had life breathed into her. This has changed into something different. I wonder if it invalidates their claim on their universe?

My husband has mentioned WWs new origin and used it in a series of "skits on the dinner theater stage of his mind" along with both old and new things with both DC and Marvel characters.
I haven't paid much attention to most comics since the late 80s or early 90s. Got tired of the constant build them up screw them over cycle. I used to read Dr Strange, X-Men, New Mutants, and Aquaman mostly. The indies I collected for a while were DNAgents and The Elementals. Tank and Monolith were both nice changes on bricks.

I had to stop reading comics so I wouldn't steal any idea's even by accident. If we come up with the same idea's, so be it...but no one would say, you read this cool idea and ripped it off. By around 2008, I did get tired of the them continually torturing my heroes by never letting them win or in some cases deciding to wipe out my favorite characters. I loved little Jubilee and they took away her powers and kicked her out of the X-men. I stopped reading X-men and have only enjoyed the movies. Even then my favorite Xmen really got little play. The movies should've been called Wolverine and the supporting mutants. Hey, I like Hugh Jackman. I like his movies (Leopold and Kate, Real Steel) and I like his Wolverine but c'mon. I loved Storm. I loved Rogue and Gambit. Those characters were brilliantly written and used in the comic books. In the movies I never saw Gambit, Storm was barely used and Rogue was barely Rouge! The writers of the comics are pretty brilliant people but as movie stars go , Halle Berry is the coolest thing since they decided to slice the bread before selling it. How could they underwrite Halle Berry?

She even showed up for Catwoman's raspberry award for the worst movie of the year. Well deserved in the scifi category. It was a terrible movie with obvious CGI but Halle wasn't what was wrong with it. Does Hollywood have an issue writing for female super-heroes that aren't Scarlett Yummy Johannsen? As far as I can tell, Everyone had the same complaint about Batman vs Superman. Not enough Wonder Woman. I think rokket should write the next big movie.

End of Rant

I just saw the trailer. I think I am in love Gal Gadot.

Wonder Woman looks pretty darn good. I think it will indeed rock so hard!! UHN!

Just saw the Gambit trailer. It was okay.

Just saw saw the Matrix 4 trailer. Thank goodness we can get that strange ending to the series out of my head.

I'm doing well except that I miss the rokket. I suppose he's doing the family thing or the away at sea thing. I rather envy his exciting life at sea.
It's not that exciting. I have been out here all this time without an internet access, so yeah, not exciting at all.

I just took a peek at that WW trailer. Remember all the misgivings we had about her in that role when it was announced so long ago, Rob? Boy was I wrong...

Uhhhh.... my own take on her. This is Tempestra3D's Jenny morph. The rest is me. The hair is Poser's Jessi...

We both were wrong. I was still living in the Lara Croft Tomb Raider Angie Jolie past along with my crush for Megan Fox. Ten Seconds after I saw Gal Gadot on the screen and in battle garb I thought, "I hope she finds me, takes all my money and then dumps me as being unworthy." I'm totally crushing on her.

'Y'know. The new kids are alright. Cris Pine, Gal Gadot, Henry Caville (Geez Henry! Stop working out and have a slice of cake!) I have to admit Hollywood got it right. There is also this chickaroo (yes Chickaroo) named Margo Robbie that I saw on Saturday Night Live. The most stunning blonde I've seen since I watched "Two Days in the Valley" It was off beat and I like off beat movies. I thought, 'I've never seen that blonde girl before she but is hollywood beautiful. She steals every scene she is in. She might be worth following.' I might be wrong but it was her first movie. Mid 90's, I think.

It was Charlize Theron.

I hope we have another winner here. To be honest, I've been barely been satisfied with any Lois Lane save Noel Niell (who passed earlier this year at 95) and Erica Durance who actually bloomed late. I might sound sexist but shouldn't Superman's girlfriend be close to the hottest girl on the planet? Gal Gadot just moved into that highly subjective category.

Anyway, I digressed but this Wonder Woman just got put on my "Must See List" for 2017.

Aw man! I was envisioning you defeating towering waves as they crashed over your ship. Venturing out like Spencer Tracy in the "Old man and the Sea." or fighting a giant tuna while making those boots.

Wow... your version of my life is so much better than the real thing. I did catch a tuna once, but it was by no means a giant. It was about 4 pounds. Good eating.

I won't argue with anything you have to say there, but I will add: Margot Robbie was perfect as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad. But Cara Delevingne was hotter as the Enchantress in my own very humble personal opinion. Yeah, Hollywood gets it right, but to be more accurate, DC and Marvel Studios are getting it right...
