I hope things work out that way, Rokket. :)
As far as colorization goes..... We both want a NOT colorized copy of Miracle on 34th Street.

Thx Lorraine! Those Musketeers were always hanging out at the pub or in the case with Cyrano, the theatre. I faded the piece to give a feeling of the old Masters.

And there are some movies I'd love to see colorized simply because I want to see Patrica Neal with Blonde hair as in the Fountainhead, Lauren Bacall with that perfect skin. The producers of the time didn't always have the choice to colorize until the 50's when the powers that be decided that EVERY movie would be in color.

How about some ION news, Rokket?

ION?

Do you mean Sonic, the name of Alex Bradshaw's alter ego?

The book is on hold while I try to figure some things out. The main thing is the name of my title character. I was thinking of titling the book Green Lightning, but never calling him that in the book. I am also thinking he will reveal himself to the city because it doesn't make sense that they can't put two and two together and figure out who he is (even though it's been working for Clark Kent for more than 75 years).

I have also been working on something else, which I will post a render when I can get to a WIFI spot. We are still at sea, and our blessed internet access went down again for the millionth time.

ION? I mean whatever you choose to call your characters. We know we have Blaze and all other hero and villains names are tentative. They do have regular names that you've commited to and no one has taken to my knowledge. I do like your idea of using Green Lightning and think you should make a direct reference to it in the book without naming him as such. I'm working on a complete rewrite myself as I write my heroes OUT of the DC universe which I love so much yet I also don't wish to be sued into nonexistence. Could they get blood from a rock? Nope, but I love my truck. I own it and DC Lawyers can't have it. I have committed to Cosmos City as the main city where things happen. They'll do a flyby of Marysville and a quick mention of a new hero but my story isn't yours. Still, there is something to be said for making a plethora of heroes. There's no such thing as only one. There is always the top of the mountain both and bad and the same should be said for the heroes and villains we create.

Still, our stories will be more personal and should encompass the world in which we live. I have a dual job. Encompassing the barbaric world that is Earth and the Utopian society under siege from outside forces in which my heroes live and melding them together for this singular journey of fun and heroics.

I feel the same way. I am also thinking of taking him in a whole new direction. The Deadpool character is really appealing to me. He's got his own rules driven by the plethora of voices in his head. He does good, but does it by taking out the bad guys permanently. One iteration of my character was just like him, at least in spirit. His origin was a bit different because the meteor messed his head up really bad. He didn't hear voices, but he saw evil in everything around him. I am also going to bring in the Calcaran. My story needs a hulk on a berserker rage...

I am also considering writing in third person for the rewrite. It's hard to foreshadow when it's from one person's perspective.

She Devil Concept.jpg

So I had this idea...

What if Daredevil had a counterpart: a female, who was not blind, but was primarily an archer who was trained by an organization along the lines of the League of Shadows? She'd be a martial arts expert of course, and an assassin.

So here is a concept. I created the suit, the cowl, bow and quiver. These are all temporary. If I decide to finish her, these will all be remodeled. I will go with a modern recurve bow and stylize it. I will also add arrows to the quiver. And there will be a color change to the costume. I have no plans of including her in my book at this time, but maybe in the sequel. She will be hired to take out John Forester. I will also add a tactical holster and maybe a crossbow to her arsenal.

Hawkeye and Green Arrow not withstanding, she has a particular liking for me. Those who are simply trained must be smarter than someone who can end each battle with a Kryptonian Punch. There was an OLD Villian back in the 70's called Terra-man. He wore six guns like a cowboy and of course was an expert shot but he was smart. We're talkin' Batman smart and he gave Superman a lot of trouble. Every bullet had a different function including a smart bullet. Hey! Why not give her smart arrows? Hmm, several different types of Arrows come to mind.

Now then...you mentioned Daredevil. And she is an assassin. So is she a bad girl that works with good guys or only as is practical as it pertains to her agenda? Catwoman IS bad...but she is doing Batman (so to speak). It always makes for an interesting mix.

Arrows? Why not?

You mentioned an Archer. A female Archer.

Something to keep to your creative juices flowing and to help you to continue to think graphic terms.

The chick above is wearing skimpy clothing because she was summoned by the Queen of the Universe to beg for the life of an Ai Princess. All those who beg before the Queen of the Universe must be stripped naked before they beg so that all know they are truly humbled. The Ai Princess is a child, all of 3 years old, is brilliant and hacked into a planetary library on the Queen's planet. She was accused of espionage and rather than send the child princess, her teacher who has appeared in this thread before went in her place. The powers of that planet tried to abuse her in the worst way possible. They did not succeed and the woman went about her second mission. Rescue all other prisoners. The military is trying to capture her.

Bad Idea. Really bad idea.

It's from a story called Interlude.

Writing in the third person? As if someone else is narrating the story. I'm not quite sure what second person is or how it works. First person is the person IN the story. Hmmm, I think third person is the way to go for your first story but the Assassin Archer? I think she might be more fun in writing in the first person whether comic or novel. The only difficult part about that is that we are men and learning how women think is a bit different.

Her comment about shoot an arrow while being blind gave me pause. For Daredevil, the chemical accident that blinded him gave him enhanced senses, which in turn enhanced his physical abilities. I haven't given her origin story much thought yet, but the blind aspect might have a role in this. I don't want to completely rip off Marvel, so I will probably keep it simple and go with the archer assassin gig.

First person: The story from the eyes of person telling it.

Second person: using 'you', 'you're' and addressing the reader while telling the story. This type of narrative is used in many children's books.

Third person is from an observer's perspective.

I am thinking I will probably do away with the horns on the cowl. And I may find a way to add a scarf or a shawl for her to cover her face, ninja style.

The new bow. I wish I was better at doing morphs. I would love to be able to use this in renders showing her drawing it.

I know I could probably buy one. But I like this one.

I didn't think of Daredevil at all when I made her origin story.

Both of these heroes lost their sight in entirely different ways and with decidedly different outcomes. I won't go into it here as it's too mindblowing (and I haven't finished the middle chapters, just the beginning and end of her origin story) Anyway, there's no way you'll confuse the two. Just like there is no way I would confuse John Forester gaining his powers from essentially a meteor and Vandal Savage, one of the most evil persons in the DC universe gaining his power in the same way. Anymore than I would think of Daredevil getting his enhanced senses from a chemical accident is like the Flash (the second one) gaining his speed powers from a chemical accident having any relation to each other.

I can go on and on but you get what I'm saying.

It's what you do with your hero or anti hero or villain or anti-villain that counts.

Is that going to be the color of her outfit? Hmmm...The Crimson Criminal! Just spitballin' here!

Anyway, It's always fun and a learning experience to see what you do and how you do it when designing your characters
