Ugh. We are underway again. Probably a week, unless, God forbid, our schedule changes again. I need a vacation.

I hate being underway. I can't download, upload or do much past posting in here. I have that skirt ready and packaged up. I have a cool motorcycle I want to post renders of. The good news is, we may be pulling in near my home. I'll be able to see my kids and get a lot of the extra crap I've accumulated off this ship so I don't have to try to fly with it.

So far it's a go, but I can't complain enough about how our schedule just never seems to hold. So I won't even tell them until I know for certain we are going to be there.

We are still on the big blue pond right now, so anything can happen...

I never get notifications any more! I'm posting some art. That normally does it. Rather than go with my usual hot girls in I-need-sex outfits. I'll start with Cyrano. Yes, that Cyrano. As I was writing another chapter in my time traveling epic, I did a little research as fact is always as amazing as fiction. I found that D'artagnan, the real one on whom the the Musketeer is based actually served at the same time as the real Cyrano Bergerac. I didn't find any evidence that they met and dates of their lives are entertwined just enough that the two could've met.

Also contributing to the idea that there are almost NO original idea's, I found they actually made a very bad movie about the two meeting...including a reprisal of the role made classic by Jose Ferrer. I'm an old movie buff and my father used to tell which movies he liked as a boy and a young man. So if you haven't seen Cyrano D'Bergerac (the movie) catch it if you can take watching movies in black and white. Some people can't and it seems so sad. They miss some classics.

A short side story, I was humming, "The Atchison, Topeka and the Santa Fe" and my father suddenly chimed in with the first chorus. He has an excellent singing voice. Something he didn't pass on to his kids and there was just something special and memorable about singing a tune with your father when you are both adults! One) you never know who can sing. Two) singing with your old man is just a joy! I'll be back with Cyrano. I don't know if the love story will work except to say it will be easy not to reference sex.

But then...what does love have to do with sex anyway?

Hi Robin!

I am waiting to see what you come up with.

I used to sing and play guitar with my dad all the time. It's one of biggest things I miss about his passing. We used to even do it over the phone when I went off and joined the Navy.

One of these days, I'll get brave enough to post some of my karaoke recordings. Maybe.

Some Obvious mistakes but I wanted to keep my word. So a simple little render. How do you like the nose?

You know, we're both father's so we both know just how much your Dad enjoyed singing with his son.

We are always children to our parents, no matter how old we get.

That looks pretty good. I think the nose is probably spot on, but it would be easier to to tell on profile.

And you are right about the father thing. I don't get much chance to sing with my daughter as much as I want to. Mostly because I don't listen to her music and she doesn't listen to mine, so we have to middle ground for it. One day we did sing some karaoke, but we were taking turns with the mic, not a duet like my father did with me.

I think it looks good too, Rob.

My mother was the one I used to sing with. She played guitar mostly but also piano. Dad recorded some of the sessions back when I was 7 and 8 on a reel to reel deck I have out in my garage. The tapes themselves are in our back room but I've no idea if they are playable. Since I am now 54 they may not be.

You might be surprised, Terre. Magnetic particles on a celluloid strip while fragile and volatile can survive. They put together the movie "Metropolis" long ago thought lost and that was almost 80 years old and perhaps stored in worst conditions. If you still have reel to reel technology, you might get to hear a wonderful memory come back to life. That is the nature of memory, a sound, a taste, a smell or a smile and it all comes flooding back to us.

and there are places that will convert it to digital for you as well so that might be an option as well.

All too true. A lot of the colorization Turner did back in the day were done off very old masters. Magnetic tape gets a condition called 'sticky shed' where it starts to come apart. It can be saved, but let a pro do it. It involves baking the tape in an oven and knowing how to unroll it afterward. But like Rob said, it will be worth it to have those memories saved.

I never got a chance to record me and my dad. I wish I had.
