My gosh, Terre! Very, VERY pleased to hear that! But not about the snow in the yard.
I'm also glad to hear you survived Terre. I didn't realize you were living in its path. Hopefully the snow will melt and disappear, and will be no more snow storms/blizzards the rest of the winter for you.

:yeahthat:

Wow, this is the first time I've used the forum on the 65" screen...it's a bit like typing on a movie screen!

Fortunately there weren't any deaths here despite being hit with the most intense part of the storm. More snow will happen but hopefully no more blizzards.
When the snow started melting I found shingles in the front yard. Wind damage turned out to be less than our deductible but the insurance adjuster said the hail damage from last October was enough to replace both the house and garage roofs. It's a bad time of year to put up new shingles so we may pay the difference and upgrade to metal.

Not something you want to find in your front yard, Terre! Will a metal roof bear up better to that sort of weather?

Cool Terre!

I was rather surprised this kitten was still available. I'd first seen her on the website a month ago when I started looking. But apparently, she'd only been available about a week for adoption.

And ... I got her.

We spent our first night relatively peaceful. Of course, she wasn't ready for bed when I was. But, she managed to keep herself quietly entertained and out of trouble until she decided to join me.

Nice, Satira! A good first night bodes well for you both.

I woke early this morning (for me anyway) and am up and coffeeing at 8am! By what I can see out the winda, gray skies and incipient rain, morning are highly overrated! I am not going to post my early morning rise to Facebook as it would send all my friends and rellies into collective spasms/conniptions and that would not be a pretty sight.

Yay, glad to hear the first night together went well. Since she was able to entertain herself without getting into trouble or waking you up, she'll probably also be fine while you're at work today.

Yes. Much better. Enough so that some insurance companies in the South Western US give discounts on premiums for upgrading.

Great. :)

It's going to take a bit to get used to this quote system but I'll adjust.

Waiting for a call back from the insurance broker now. The lady who handles things there is calling the insurance company to see if they're got the claim updated yet.

Progress. I just got the new claim number and have given it to the adjuster who was here several days ago to look at the roof. :)

She mentioned elsewhere that the kitty is being very helpful and wanting to help her to type...
