I vaguely remember hearing something like that. But, I didn't think to look it up until now.

Always amazes me the oodles of police and fire trucks that respond here. By here, I mean specifically this block. There were the two big trucks with the lights, and another dozen fire trucks. They stretched up and down City Avenue for a good block (or more) in either direction. This is the second car fire that I've seen, the first one was under a Schuylkill overpass, so all traffic was diverted. The response to that car fire was a lot different, with only a couple police cars and one or two fire trucks. But then ... there wasn't a block long 20ish story apartment complex under that overpass :p

Not like here.

City Avenue is still closed, though it looks like they are starting to sweep up the interestion.

And they were were probably afraid of sight seers getting too close.
Looks like the driver of the white car wasn't paying attention doesn't it?

The white car is a Mercedes C Class, which slammed into the dark Ford Escape ... sending it spinning. A six month old in the backseat of the Ford Escape was taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, while another person was taken to Lankenau Hospital.

Hopefully, the baby was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Yikes, Satira... that's not something I would want to be witness to. That sort of thing can get ugly very quickly. Hopefully they are okay!

It really is only a matter of time before there is an even worse accident at that intersection. During the day, traffic is a lot slower because of congestion, but once traffic lightens up, then you get the idiots who are barreling down the street as if it's a speedway. Add to that the fact that most drivers here don't believe they need to stop for a red light or wait until the red light has turned green, a 25 mph speed limit means 55 mph, and there are a lot of college students wandering the area. Who are difficult to see in dark clothing at night. They are unpredictable at best ... more so when they have been partying.

There are several accidents or near misses a month, most of which I ignore. But that one last night sounded worse than usual which is why I got up immediately to see what had happened.

Yikes, that's not something I'd want to witness either. Thank goodness I don't face the street. Then again, if I "heard" anything like that, I'd probably be down in the street checking it out.

You know Rae, that's not a bad idea, especially on busy streets that get a lot of pedestrian AND vehicular traffic.

Good morning. :)
Internet is back up after being out for over 8 hours. Fortunately I was asleep most of the time. Jim had something he needed to upload, however, so it did bother him.

Funny thing is when I called the store this morning so the bookkeeper could check their connection before opening they were fine. Commercial accounts have a different server than residential I guess.

Howdy folks! A topsy turvy day, sun one minute, rain and fierce south westerly wind the next.

Glad you got your internet back, Terre. Going ashore shortly to help out a friend whose computer has upgraded to Win10 without permission. She also had her internet knocked out which she had blamed on the computer. Turns out they need all new wiring for their phone. They have it back on temporarily but a big upgrade is happening soon. They just had to put on a new roof so did not need this added expense. Poor loves.

The Win7 rollback was successful, also got her wifi going again. Put Never10 on to ensure Win10 doesn't come back. A successful arvo followed by delicious dinner with beetroot chocolate cake for dessert, so moist and yummy.

My mother went through that Win10 BS also. She is back on 7 with all the parts of 10 disables so it can't "upgrade" itself again. This stuff is supposed to end at the end of July when the free upgrade period ends.

As my friend said, Terre, smacked way too much of Big Brother and 1984. Reaching into someone's private property and messing with its settings is trespassing as far as I'm concerned. So very wrong in so many ways.
