Blue skies can be nice, but ... I love grey skies! Then too, I also love it when it rains. And ... the best part of the summer are those cool summer nights. Oh ... what am I saying? The best part of just about any day is the night. I suppose us night owls can be rather strange creatures. Obviously, spending my first 40 years in the Pacific Northwest tucked away in a valley beneath the Cascade mountain range may have corrupted me too

As for furniture, I'm more partial to charcoal rather than silvery grey. But ... I love silvery grey carpet. With light grey walls and an accent wall or two of a deep blueish grey or mauve ... and I'm in the cave of my dreams.

My favourite colour is black and its shades then anything bluey green or greeny blue (think aqua and teal) and hot pink (not any other shade of pink unless its fluro )

I love our summer storms. Blue skys in the morning turning dark only just before it storms.

Satira, I'm afraid your colour scheme would send me dolally. I like white walls and ceilings, wooden floors and trims with scatter rugs. I like my soft furnishings to be light and cheery, my shelves and table to be wooden.

Rae, I've experienced one of your blue sky morning, dark sky arvo first hand. I rented a aluminium runabout with no cabin on the Goldie and took my daughter and her husband for a day up the Broadwater. The afternoon turned black, we ended up in the middle of a massive electrical storm, hail the size of golf balls, FREAKY! Then it passed over, the sun came back out, we dried off and continued as if nothing had happened. Only in Australia

LOL! That sounds like central Florida where my mom lives, too... toss in a whole ton of heat lightning (they ARE the lightning capital of the world for a reason!), and you just about nailed central Florida afternoons!

If the morning light that's streaming in my window is any indication, its going to be a beautiful day today. (currently 14c but I'm sure it will warm up quickly). And now I'm out of hospital, I might actually get to enjoy it (if I decide not to go to work )

Aftermorning all! We are in for thunderstorms, squalls and 50knot gusts today, eeeep!! Debating whether it's worthwhile getting out of bed But I need COFFEE!! So up I get

Our weather wasn't quite as bad as that here, but it's gotten colder again, and it did rain some.

We musta got your rain too, Seliah! It's a mite chilly here but not enough to light the fire. I do hope my Souci babe keeps her nose into the wind, 50knots can really make her heel over if she catches it on the side.

Its currently 25 degrees Celsius and blue skys (with some wispy clouds) at 11.40 am

Thumbnails from my front door, first is looking kinda left of front, and 2nd I stepped out from under the eves to take a pic of the other side but back from the road (I think I need to paint my gutters/eves )

Very nice, Rae! I'll never forget my first trip to the Goldie. Went from a cool NZ to running around in tshirts for two weeks and arrived back into Auckland to a frost! I done nearly died! Brrrr. The Melbourne weather is why my daughter is moving back to the Gold Coast at the beginning of June...she just couldn't face a third winter there.

Well, we had some rain on Sunday as well, so I guess it headed South instead of North.

I've been here since 2002 and can't imagine living anywhere else. We'll have to catch up one day if you come over to visit your daughter.

Thanks I was supposed to go into surgery next week but the surgeon has left (I was supposed to be his last patient) so the canceled it. I wouldn't have to keep going in and out if they'd just get it done grrrrrrr.
