I am SO glad you're back!

Don't you say awesome as, or sweet as, or choice as, in your neck of the woods? I had a friend who used to get furious with me "sweet as what?!" he would thunder. Furious as, was he!

Well now, I don't know about Rokket, but where I'm from, as well as where I currently live, "as" is always followed by something. "Sweet as sugar" for instance. There's always a "something" after the word where I am. Leaving it at the word "as" around here, and people will give you the same response your friend did, because it's an incomplete thought and an incomplete sentence.

But I get the basic gist of what you're saying when you say it, too. :p

It is a beautiful country, Rokket, not Paradise but pretty good.

You usually understand my vernacular quicker than most, Seliah, the Kiwi next door must talk a lot like me :)

Sweet as has escaped its roots and 'as' is now tacked on to most anything. It's cold as and hot as and awesome as and munted as all over the place. And it's totally Kiwi and not shared with them fullas over the Ditch. Choice!!

Nice. I looked at some of the pictures on Google. I like what I see.

I'd never seen that usage of "as " either but figured it was a figure of speech where the other person was supposed to insert their own word at the end in accordance with the first word. If it was "sweet" then it was likely a compliment etc. Glad to see I was on the right track. :)

I hate to rain on your parade Lorraine but it does sort of get used over here...you can blame all those kiwis who live over here.
