The Anchorage, Part 3

Nowt wrong with playing in the dirt! That's the only thing I miss living on the boat. And I have threatened to once again make a foredeck garden if I can get a watercatching system going successfully.

A warm and sunny day here in Opua for the start of the long weekend. Glad I'm not on the road driving anywhere.

It sure looks it! My own garden has never been quite that prolific, but I'm fighting with urban conditions, too. So we do the best we can, and I grow the stuff that I know will grow back there. :)

That's the only way, Seliah...I learnt a lot of plants DO NOT like salt air! And of course, the bugs...damn they were bad. When I start again, I'm going to grow things in the same sort of containers (fish bins) but raise them higher so I can slosh salt water on the decks without getting it on the plants, and no lemon tree this time :)

I will, Terre, I love gardening and fresh produce. And you can't really see in the photo but I had containers of flowers too, pansies and sweet alyssum and lobelia. Plus I had daffodils and freesia in the spring. If I can have it ready for next spring I'll be pretty happy :)

Morning all...congrats Seliah on the finishing the project!

Sorry to hear about your tablet Lorraine...

Hi everyone :) An overcast but still warm day with no breeze encouraged me to start the watercatcher project. Sadly, it cost me my chisel :( they don't float. So it has gone to join at least two hammers, my best screwdriver, and another chisel on the sea floor. Sigh. And just finished and back inside as a shower starts. Very good timing.

WOW, I would never have thought of having a garden on a boat. ;)

Neither do most people...the lemon tree was always a conversation stopper, peeps would look at me like "you've got to be kidding" and my friends around the table would be "nope, she's got a lemon tree on her boat!"

Sorry to hear about your tablet Lorraine...

Thanks, Pen, I'm surely missing it. I must have been sent a defective cable for it to fail that quickly.

Yeah, I can imagine that stopping a conversation. ;)
