A WIP: Thuglife. Was on a self imposed 3d buying ban (got a holiday in August to save for) but I just couldn't resist getting this outfit from Daz in Fast Grab. figure is Dusk with Nataani body and mats, and one of Laurie's Rodrigo bodies and TWO heads applied (only five minutes and I can't remember which two), Wanted Dead or Alive derby hat, clothing Slapstick for G2M, converted beautifully including the shoes :) Will play some more with it tomorrow. Right now I need FOOD!

Hey everyone, a sunny, warm day in Opua with the inside of my boat smelling like a wood fire. Somebody somewhere up wind of me has a good sized burnoff happening which is somewhat stupid on such a breezy day. Being as my boat is not hermetically sealed, she smells like she's part of the burnoff. Quite disconcerting on a wooden boat

Grrrrrrr! On the Friday night of a long weekend my new tablet cable of only two weeks has just failed. It's not charging at all and yet it looks perfectly all right. So no music, no movies and no kindle books till the end of next week. SO annoyed.

OUCH, Lorraine... and just after finally getting the new HD enclosure, too!!

....and in other news, the church board - and their priest - approved the anniversary book. ^_^ I have two small edits to make per their request, but after that, it finally goes to print.

And hey. I only froze a couple of times... LOL

I'm very impressed you made it through the presentation with only two freezes...well done! And only two small edits on a project that size?! SUPER well done!

I will be returning the cable but can't send it till Tuesday as it's a public holiday Monday and it's going to take at least two days there and two days back so I doubt it could be replaced any sooner than Friday next week. A whole week!! Argh. I have lots of books on the boat to read but the tablet's my music and video player and I'm really gonna miss that.

The H/D enclosure did the trick and the drive is going great guns and all back to normal. Hoorah!

Congratulation Seliah. :D

Lorraine you have my sympathies for the smoke and the cable. No music and a smell I wouldn't want within 10 miles of a wooden boat is not good news.

Good morning, Terre :) Thank you for your very kind sympathy. The smoke dissipated about two hours later...I do hope they don't light it up again. I feel very sorry for anyone who was really close to it, would have been awful.

I shall miss my music...it's going to be very quiet here :(

We'll soon be getting into grass fire season here. Those vary from easily dealt with by one town's FD to needing every truck in the area to fight. When the latter happens we have tanker trucks from at least one of the little towns in the area filling up in front of the store. There is a setup on the front wall for trucks like that to hook up and refill.

That sounds scary! We do get scrub fires here but not normally big ones. Most often burnoffs gone out of control. Do your firefighters use helicopters with monsoon buckets?

Terre

No. Too low income an area for towns to afford them. The forest service has some and the professional fire fighting companies do.

Afternoon everyone. So, I'm on for a little while, but I'm getting the edits done this afternoon for the book, before I can do anything 3D.

Temps are actually a good 70 degrees out there today. Finally! LOL

Congrats, again, Seliah on getting the anniversary book done.

I just checked, and it's 75 degrees here, and sunny. It's been nice weather here for a while, and I hope it keeps up like this, though I'm certainly not looking forward to weather warmer than the mid-70s, that's for sure.

Yeah.. It used to be that even 70 was a touch too warm for me. With being anemic, though, I'm cold all of the time, whether it's -30 outside, or 100. LOL

Still. I'm glad we finally have some nice weather. I really need to get our garden planted, or we're going to be very, very slim on fresh produce this year. >.<

This is a good time to do it, as I'm sure it'll take a while for them to grow to maturity.

Yes, it takes a while for everything to be ready for harvest. I stagger planting so that we have both a mid-summer crop and a fall crop. Normally, I would have begun planting at the end of March, but we were still getting icy cold temperatures, and the seedlings would have needed to be transplanted before the temperatures outside would be safe for them this year.

I suppose I will be playing in the dirt this weekend. :) LOL
