The Anchorage, Part 3

Hey Terre, hey Pen :)

You will be pleased to hear the storm passed through the night with NO thunderstorms! Yay! They give me the screaming abdabs so very happy they did not eventuate. It rained but rain's not a prob unless I'm sitting under the mast. So it's all over rover and a nice day has ensued.

Hope the weather has warmed up for you, Terre!

You and me both. They forcasted rain here today, and it was cloudy this morning, but the sun came out before I left for my appointment, so I ditched the umbrella in the stand on my way out the door. It actually reached 72 degrees today, and I'm just NOT ready for summer yet.

Hey, Miss B! 72F, that's 22C, pretty warm alright! It is so hot and muggy here and the rain and heat has brought out the flies, it's more like Aussie than NZ ;)

72, Miss B? LOL You all were much warmer than we were today. We had mid 50's and rain all day. :)

I'm very scattered tonight, as I'm trying like crazy to finish up this anniversary booklet project. I have to have like over 500 pictures all framed up and in many cases restored (1920's and 1930's era photographs) and ready to drop into templates by Sunday afternoon... and it's already late Friday evening! LOL

Yeah, we usually get warmer weather than you guys "up north", but it won't be for long. It's supposed to drop back down to the 50s tonight, and they're expecting a high of 57 and rain tomorrow. Stupid Mother Nature, she just can't decide what season she wants it to be.

Mother Nature is definitely confused. I was at a stoplight where it was Sunny. 2 stop lights later it was raining. Another 2 stop lights later it was snowing. All the time 49ºF.

Geeze. I remember when I was a kid, and my mother and I were visiting at a cousin's house, and it was sunny on our side of the street, and raining on the other side.

I also watched a rainstorm follow me as I traveled east on the railroad to visit a friend last year, but 3 different weather patterns within 6 blocks? That is weird.

Weather walls are absolutely fascinating. There was a spot out on Route 9 - to this day it's still like this - it's a total weather wall. You get to that spot, and the front of your car is soaked from the rain, and the back of it is perfectly dry... sunny on one side and cloudy and raining on the other... it's so weird to see it, but I always get a bit of a thrill when I run into one of those weather walls. :D

We're supposed to be in the low 30's this weekend. They're expecting snow...

Glad to hear that you didn't get the storm Lorraine...I looked at that and thought "what a nice cool day without being cold."

Good luck with your project Seliah...

I've seen similar but without the snow...I'm glad you dropped into this thread as I wanted to say Welcome to the Hive but didn't want to clutter up Faery_Lights Antonia thread...

So...welcome to the hive Vanish.:bee::bee::beehive:

Here in Melbourne we say that you can have all four seasons in the one day in the one spot...I remember driving to pick my kids up years ago. It was only 5 mins in the car but it was sunny at our place and pouring with rain by the time I got to school.

Edited to add: welcome to the Anchorage :)

We had a lovely day all day, sunny with a NW breeze to keep us a little cooler. Has been muggy but. The night is drawing in and it's cooling off and getting overcast. Our last night of daylight saving, it will be dark at this time tomorrow night. And that will mean summer is definitely over and it will be time to light the fire soon. I STILL haven't tired of being able to say that :inlove:

Oooh that's a thought it's probably ours too! I need to check...not that it matters what time I get up tomorrow.
