Nighters!

Well, I'm not quite headed to bed. But it's sooo cold, I'm headed to the couch and my blankee while pizza cooks.

Which means in about a half hour, I'll be asleep :p

Hmmm, I actually have a small fan on all day today, though it's a lot cooler than it was yesterday.

Hopefully Satira will get the pizza warmed and eaten "before" she falls asleep. ;)

Hope you enjoy your pizza Satira...as my son is working 4 days(this is a big deal for him with his chronic fatigue) I'm cooking tonight. I have a slow cooker going with beef with red wine and mushrooms and a cheesy potato bake cooking.

Yum, Pen! My gosh, that made my tummy rumble...or was it the bread I have baking?! Either way I'm HUNGRY!

I wish I was...my tummy is rumbling but for all the wrong reasons. Not contagious just my diverticulitis and irritable bowel playing up. Bread baking...that does sound yum!

Oh no, Pen! That sounds horrid especially with the yummy dinner coming. I gotta say, I'm addicted to fresh bread out of the oven. Scuse me whilst I go and check it.

Oops, it's overproofed and gone a bit flat but it'll be fine hot and covered in butter. I am now torturing myself.

lol...well I just ate my dinner and it was lovely but if my tummy was okay I would have had some bread with it and didn't.

Even a bit flat home made bread is delicious.

Oh yes, my slightly flat bread is yummo! Would have loved some of your yummy stew with it instead of just butter :)

Oh gosh. A beef stew and fresh bread hot out of the oven ... even slightly flattened sounds absolutely delicious. But, I cringe when I see the cost of meat so rarely buy it.

I always set the timer whether it's just heating water to boil or popping something in the oven ... or even simply preheating the oven. I am known to get involved with working on the computer or reading and completely forgetting that I have a burner or oven on. So no. I didn't fall asleep until after I'd eaten the pizza. At some point, I saw Season 7 of Criminal Minds, which I just started on Netflix. I just watched Seasons 1 through 6 over the last few weeks. So even though I fell asleep during the first episode of the season, I didn't bother to "rewind" to watch what I'd missed while napping.

It wasn't the best pizza I've ever had, but then, I've only a few times in my life had pizza that I was happy with. And never a pizza made in Philadelphia! Our newest developer completed his probationary period Monday and was hired, so we're having a surprise Pizza lunch for him Friday. Though, someone should probably make plans to go to lunch with him. Otherwise, he might not be around for the surprise lunch!

Anyway ... Pizza last night was Amy's Cheese and Pesto Pizza w/ Whole Wheat Crust. It just needed a lot more sauce. I'm one of those weird people that likes a lot of sauce on my pizza topped with a bit of cheese. There wasn't too much cheese on this pizza so that was fine. But as usual, the sauce had just been skimpily brushed on the crust. /sigh.

Well ... it's time to leave for work ... or so my alarm tells me. I'll be so glad when I no longer have to live a life controlled by alarms!

Hey Satira, I used oyster blade which is one of the cheaper cuts. Looked for blade steak but they didn't have any only rump and tbone and I refuse to buy those as they are way too expensive since they started exporting the good stuff. Years back meat here was really cheap, but these days the really good stuff tends to be exported. I won't buy expensive meat to use in a slow cooker. It would be a waste...but after 8 hours the oyster blade was tender as and I cut off all the fat.
We don't buy huge portions of meat but we do have mince, lamb and chicken regularly. We also eat a lot of pasta...

Hey, everyone. Just dropped into say "hi."

I took a little time to deal with real life stuff.

Much love to all.

Hello my sweetie! Real life...has a lot to be said for it but things can derail so quickly. And with no back button! Hope you and little Dolly are well and getting enough sleep

Hello my peeps! A cruddy day in Opua with decent sized waves bobbing me and Souc up and down and the boarding ladder needing to be lifted so the dinghy wouldn't take it out. Oh what FUN! This is one of the times that make me look sideways at people who tell me what a 'romantic' life I lead. Yeah, right, romantic as heck ;) But it's not raining, it's only blowing 20-25knots, and once I do my chores I'm going to go sit in front of the computer and ignore the Beast on the backend...doubt I'll be able to hear it over the wind!

Hey Jan, hope everything is running smoothly now.

Lorraine, be careful when you lift that ladder it sounds like it would be difficult as well as dangerous.

Lorraine

The Wicked Witch of the North
No dangerous, Pen, but difficult. I have to put the aft dinghy line on a special extra line so the dinghy's back end moves out from the boat, push the dinghy with the boat hook till it's far enough out, haul up the ladder with one hand till clear of the dinghy, put down the boat hook and tie up the ladder, haul in the dinghy and reclip it short, put the boat hook away. Whew! Better done before the weather gets bad and way better done in daylight. The weather can do its worst now, we are all ticketty-boo :)
