Come on, Earl, you're smart enough to know exactly why. Between the Songbirds disappearing from the download history of DAZ customers, Chris' evident membership "demotion" at RDNA, and Netherworks' locked thread, the war on Hivewire and their customers has been engaged.

As I said a week ago, I just hope we all stand strong.

I still have the Songbird products in my product list and I can still download them manually or via DIM.
And personally I don't see any war going on and it would be sad to see any mud slinging starting here its bound to create friction and could have the effect of giving Hivewire a reputation for allowing DAZ bashing to flourish, I'd really hate to see that, I use this website and store but I also use and shop at DAZ and very occasionally rendo, I use Poser though only a little being mainly a DS user, and I'm not going to be pushed into taking sides.

Hey,Ken, slightly off topic, but do you have any parakeets, or Canaries at Hivewire?

Pet Shop has budgies and canaries. If you are looking for a specific bird, the best place to look is my bird wiki encyclopedia. It has every bird I've ever created with an unretouched render, species information and links. While the birds are sorted by region and ornithological type, there is a search feature so you can look for it by name.

Tparo-- several customers came to me for backups because they were experiencing problems with the download manager -- the purchases were listed but the files weren't there or corrupted. I don't have any of them in my account (being the creator of them), so there's no way for me to know for sure what the issue was. In any case, there's now a way to get the most current versions via Hivewire3D.

Respectfully, no one is asking anyone to take "sides".

So I'm going to go out on a limb and say you more than 'like' birds, you love them . That being said, you're birds are just amazing and it's especially great that you've organized them by species and such, although I was glancing through and was sad because at least one woodpecker species was marked (extinct???).

Thanks, yes I do "love" birds and am very passionate about birds and the environment. I do a lot of extinct and critically endangered birds for my sets to help artists spread awareness about their plights (we have lost 60-80% (depending on region) of the world's bird population in the last 60 years-- I'll get into this more at the end of next month during my Audubon's Birthday Charity event). The "I like birds" reference, of course refers to me, but also to the Eel's song "I like birds".

I'm even sadder about the whole thing given some things that have happened to me on the forums there yesterday and this morning - RDNA was always a site I liked and I've bought a lot of content from them over the years. I had been over there trying to help their customers but I guess that has not been appreciated.
That's unfortunate Alisa. I've always liked RDNA's forums, and it's sad to see what's going on since the announcement of the merger.

The only birds pack I bought from you at DAZ was Corvus Corvus a couple/three months before you left, and I have installed and used them, so I'm glad for that.

Any other of your bird packs I've purchased here, and will continue to do so.

I had answered the one before mine where someone asked about products moved over here being updated, and I said that we hope to be able to and that people should back up their RDNA invoices because those would be needed.
Well, I have every single email invoice I've ever gotten with regard to any of my 11 years of purchases at RDNA, as well as a spreadsheet listing every item, with respective invoice numbers and dates of purchase. Do you think I should still backup my invoice pages at RDNA?

I have them all as well - the email with the proof of purchase and the download links to the files. I kept them because, as a vendor, I might be required to prove ownership of an MR at any point, so I thought the original "invoice" was something I should archive. But, I purchase a lot of MRs, so I can understand those who don't wouldn't really see a need to archive them.

YUP. I learned a while back to not bother with their forums. Same with the 'Rosity forums. There is always war breaking out at the first sign of having a different path, goal or opinion. I don't deal with immature mud slinging well so I just avoid places that have that kinda stuff going on. No reason why folks have to go down those paths dragging everyone down into it but I guess folks like that like war and arguing. I don't.

You won't get any argument from me regarding the Rosity forum but in fairness to the RDNA team their moderation of the forums were pretty good. They were generally consistent and allowed some healthy debates but mud slinging and personal attacks were jumped on very quickly.

Well that's a good point. When I was there after the announcement there was some pretty heated words going back and forth, didn't make me want to go there and constantly read all the doom and gloom posts. Got to be depressing.

I am sure that the RDNA customers appreciated your attempts at trying to help them. I liked the sight but the recent developments really were the writing on the wall, I suspect you cannot blame the old RDNA team for this particular situation other than it being a ramification of the decision they have made. Still sad to see something you liked begin to disintegrate but I guess that is the way of the world.

Like you I do not see a war going on just a group of people upset with the way things are going while being concerned to make sure they have continued access to the products they have already invested in.

I cannot see Hivewire3D ever being accused of allowing Daz bashing, there are just too many DS users here that willing to help others and a lot of Poser people interested in what other artist are doing irrespective of the tools they use. Everyone here seems to be intelligent enough know what it is the art that matters and they treat other artists with respect, that has been my experience anyway and, even though I am not that intelligent, I am happy to follow those goals.:)

Yea, your right there were a few angry and upset people but the announcement was rather out of the blue and I do think that the wording of the announcement did not have the RDNA feel to it. Everyone deals with matters like this in their own way but as you say, it is depressing and not visiting there is a very valid way of dealing with it, I suspect you are in the majority.

You know Hornet, I also felt the announcement didn't feel like it was coming from the RDNA folks we've all come to know over the years. Maybe they felt it was better to make it "cut and dry", rather than getting all emotional about it.

I read Regina's long post on Facebook, and it was very informative. That is the kind of announcement, though maybe not as lengthy, I would've expected, so the merger itself was disappointing, and the announcement too was disappointing. Doesn't leave much to be happy about. Of course, I wish them all well as they're good people, and I hope they get from this merger what they're expecting.

I agree 100%, and I do wish the team well but I also hope the customers have access to all the content they have invested in without having to jump through hoops. While I do sincerely wish the very best for the RDNA team the leaders at least had a choice the customers did not, to me that leaves them open to being victims if it is not handled right. Deleting posts that have valuable information to those customer, no matter what the origin, does not lay easy with me for that very reason.

True, very true. I'm about 2/3 through with re-downloading all my 11 years of purchases. Thank goodness for the RDNA Content Downloader. Not sure what I would've done without it, as I hate downloading a single file at a time. :(

Removing the posts and locking that topic makes me sad. Really surprised by the reason too.

I had a lot of admiration and respect for the RDNA folks. Not so much now. But then ... I'm really not sure why I'm surprised posts were removed simply because they came from HiveWire "admins" or that the topic was locked to prevent further discussion. It's what happened at the DAZ forums when anyone attempted to mention Dawn and HiveWire in the early days. With absolutely no explanation to the post writer as to why our posts violated DAZ forum rules. They just ... disappeared. And we could only speculate as to why they disappeared. Not that it was that big a mystery. After all, DAZ is never very subtle.

DAZ simply doesn't seem to play well with other people, and RDNA isn't RDNA anymore. We probably shouldn't be surprised by a more draconian attitude toward HiveWire posts.

While the merger announcement didn't read like something I'd expect from Syyd, she is now a DAZ employee. Sooo ... so she could just have been giving her DAZ spiel a spin, y'know.

Maybe Regina was channeling Syyd in that Facebook post, and maybe she was speculating like the rest of us. I did wonder why she posted it on Facebook and not in the RDNA forums. One thing for sure though. It was a pain to attempt to read it! Took me several attempts before my eyes stopped glazing over. Paragraphs and spacing are your friend!
