I like that merman; cool! I've never thought to use geoshells, but that's something I should learn to do. I like the creature morphs -- I have sets for Dawn, Dusk, and Luna -- but finding textures to work with some of them is a challenge.

Yes. You can still include either a list of dials and settings or screenshots of the dial settings.

Thank you. Need to improve my reading comprehension!

Nope, I will be rendering likely right up until minutes before the deadlibe if I participate. Never to late to make sure the effort wont be disqualified.

That's all well and good, but it seems that if someone already entered something in good faith, following the rules to the best of their understanding, and then later something they used was disallowed on a technicality, should they be disqualified? Personally, I think that anything not specifically prohibited in the rules is by definition allowed.

3DU and HaiGan, can you clarify whether you used the Sculpted Dusk character dial or the individual Sculpted Dusk Head and Sculpted Dusk Body?

Thank you for that screenshot Satira, as I was getting very confused with the difference between the "morphs" and the "full character". NOW I can see how you access each.

MerDusk: SculptedDuskBody, as per dial screenshot
DinosaurDusk: SculptedDusk dial =80, with an additional +0.7 SculptedDuskHead (which shows in grey as being set to 80 before that modification due to the main dial setting). I could have- but did not- achieve the same effect by having the SculptedDusk dial =0 and separately setting the SculptedDuskBody to 80 and the SculptedDuskHead to 80.7. I didn't notice that the ScuptedDusk dial did anything other than simultaneously control the Head and Body dials. It certainly wasn't anything that showed in the screen view I was working on at the time. As both Head and Body were about 80 I replaced that as a base setting using the main dial then adjusted the head individually on top of that- if that makes sense as an explanation?

Hope that helps?

I hope Sculpted Dusk is okay too!

Both Sculpted Dusk and Ruckus fall into a grey area because neither include textures. I did mention Sculpted Dusk had been used in entries.
From what I understand from a comment from Lisa in one of our "conversations" about this render challenge, the SculptedDuskHead and/or the SculptedDuskBody morphs are OK, but the included SculptedDusk (full morph) is not allowed, because IT is considered a character morph.

As far as I am aware, all the SculptedDusk dial does is to control the SculptedDuskHead and SculptedDuskBody dials, so the result is the same as having adjusted them each separately to the same setting? The use of the single dial appeared to be within the rules as stated (i.e. morphs sold without a texture). It seems unfair to then disallow it at this relatively late stage, when having made a clear statement about it at the start would have meant those using it could have reached exactly the same result by spinning the two separate dials instead of that one control dial.

Ruckus is somewhat similar- with the Ruckus dial, I think, controlling three individual dials (RuckusBody, RuckusHead and RuckusSize)? I'm checking Ruckus in Poser rather than DS, as the two different programs may raise different points. In the case of Ruckus you get a FullBodyMorph folder that contains three dials, of which potentially two would be allowed but one would not. That has the potential to be confusing.

You misunderstand - I want to make sure what I am pursuing is not disallowed.
The Vampire skins/textures CAN be used, it's the Vampire character that can't be used.
I use the morphs on the head for that WIP creature I showed. So I will stop work on it for this contest and pursue a different idea.

So can the individual morphs that come with Sora be used?

I think I'm going to have to have Lisa step in an review some of these last comments folks, mostly because, in some cases, I'm as uncertain as you are.

I don't think that will work, mostly because it won't be viewable by anyone who only uses Poser, especially one of the judges.

That said, I can well understand not wanting to write out all the dial spin settings. so I think screenshots will work best. I can combine them into one, or two, screenshots when I gather them up for preparing everything for the judges to view, so don't worry about there being several. Some folks did screenshots of their DS settings, and I combined them to make it easier to work with for uploading to the private judging forum. That's not a problem.

@Ken1171 What is the best way to adjust Dawn clothing to fit when using some of your body type morphs? Many of the outfits I have for Dusk and Dawn have very little morph support.

I don't recall offhand Kage, but what software do you use, Poser or DS? I ask because in Poser Pro 2014 and Poser Pro 11, you an go to Figure > Copy Morphs From . . . and then select only those body morphs you want to copy to the clothing.

IOW, you don't have to copy ALL of Dawn's body morphs you have injected, but just select Narrow Shoulders, Perfect Pelvis, or any of the Body Types you've used with Dawn. Then you can use those morphs in the clothing to get the clothing to fit Dawn well. The same would be true for any injected body morphs you wish to use for Dusk and his clothing.

I've done this several times, and it works nicely. As far as DS goes, I don't have the very latest version so don't know if there's a similar option, though there very well may be.

I use Poser. The last version I have is 2014GD. I'll try that (not sure if it's because of an older OS but some of the features P2014 is supposed to have I can not find in the menus where they should be).

Hmmmm, PP11 is the first Pro version of Poser I've ever had, so I've not been able to use this feature before. It's a Pro version only feature. Not sure about the OS causing issues. I'm still working with Win7 Pro. I wasn't back into Poser back when I was using my previous laptop, which was running WinXP Pro, so can't say for sure about OS issues with the Pro versions of Poser.

I have Poser Pro 2010, and it has worked under Windows 7 Pro and Windows 10 Pro. I don't know a lot about Poser, so I don't know if certain features are working or not.
