Pretty day here today, which is good since my daughter and her fiance closed on a house this morning and we'll spend a good bit of time getting furniture moved into her new home.

That is, of course, if I can bring her back down from Cloud 9 anytime soon.

That's exciting - no wonder she's on cloud 9 (possibly 10 or 11 as well?). Congrats to your daughter and her fiancé.

Lots of snow last night as predicted. Streets were a mess to try to drive on, though it looked beautiful like a Christmas card picture outside. If we hadn't been so worn out from the day, my wife and I would've gone for a walk and listened to the snow falling. ;)

Right now it's -13C and overcast. Still looks kinda pretty out there, though.

A fresh snowfall always looks pretty. It's when the snowplows start clearing the streets, which pushes the snow up against the cars parked on the street, the snowfall doesn't look so pretty any more. Then there's the street corners that become flooded and hard to cross when the snow starts to melt, and there's no place for it to run off to because everywhere else the snow is still piled up. Snowfall in the big city. ~shakes head~

Ain't that the truth! They haul most of the plowed snow away to several snow dump sites here, but still...it's always a bit of an effort in futility. And soggy shoes.

And of course it's all going to melt and freeze and thaw and mix with the sand and salt they put on the roads...yuck.

So regardless of how well they clear the streets, your car will look like this for about six months and there ain't nothin' you can do about it. :tantrum:

Good times. ;)

All too true James, and then there's the one or two days the temps get above freezing, and then you have mud on your shoes as you try desperately to cross the streets without winding up ankle deep in sludge. ~cringe~

BTW, I like the new avatar. ;)

We don't get much snow here but when we do it's a big mess as most folks don't really know how to drive in it.

That reminds me years ago we got our first really, really bad snowstorm . . . like 2 to 2 1/2 feet of snow . . . and we had snowplows drive down from Buffalo to NY City to help us clean up the mess. Needless to say, NY learned it's lesson well, as the cities up in the northwest corner of NY State were used to being buried in so much snow, so their snowplow drivers taught ours a thing or two.

I'll never forget that winter, as it was before I got a garage spot in my building. I went on vacation for a week, and my car was still totally buried in snow when I got back. We haven't had snows like that since.

A balmy -10C right now and beautifully sunny.

A system with warmer weather is moving in and with the swing in barometric pressure a migraine has arrived. Unfortunately I have work to do, so I have to work through it.

Mild weather here for this time of year. 59F and possible record temps for Thanksgiving. We are way over due for a hard winter. Two years ago we started out with Goliath then had a mild winter thereafter. I kind of afraid this year will be the opposite.

It was sunny and probably around 51° F (10° C )...
Actually it was a fairly nice day.
The leaves are starting to pile up now... Seems like they started falling a lot later this year.
Ugh... I dread the cleanup... Sooooo many leaves...
Last week I picked up all the fallen branches from the windstorm.
As soon as I did, it rained and there was another windstorm and now there are more branches down...
I generally mulch the leaves with the tractor and dump them on the edge of the woods for the salamanders and critters to frolic in, but to do all that I have to remove all the branches first.
I am not a fan of autumn.

Down to the frigid mid 80 s here today. All our winter flowers: geraniums, pansies, petunias putting on a big show. Roses getting ready to burst into bloom...

We are at the cold at night, warm and sunny during the day. But, dang, there's a huge temperature swing when the sun goes down.

I hate those big drops in temp at night, though the other day wasn't that cold, but the wind was so strong there was a collapse of scaffolding around a building that came down. That's scary.
