I bought another 5-rendercow pack for my Vue Infinite 2014 license. This morning, running a panorama (skydome) of the Pink Paradise atmosphere, at 8192x4096 pixels at superior quality. This atmo is notoriously difficult/slow to render.
But now I've got 424 cores across nineteen machines pounding away at it. Urania is controlling this morning.
When finished, I'll crop off the bottom half; the upper 8192x2048 image will texture the Lothlorien skydome (or the P11 construct).
Then, waiting in queue, is one more Godray atmo. All of the nighttime and stormy atmos are finished

If it makes you feel any better, I've been sweating in the humid heat,
because I can't use air conditioning along with all of the computers; I can only run fans placed so as to move air past the rack, up the stairwell, then out of the workstation room windows. Many moons ago (okay, 1998) I took a "Network Specialist" course (a glorified course in sticking a NIC into a slot, plugging in an ethernet cable, then telling Windows 9x it was there) and we got a tour of some of the university's physical network infrastructure. Bundles and bundles of ethernet. Many many boxes with many many blinkenlights. ...This wouldn't have been out of place! I salute your efforts!

I assume it's the electricity bill you're worried about because servers like it cooler than the other side of the pillow (as everyone knows). But I wanna know! Are your servers relaxing on a futon? By the way, that is a lot more organized than one may realize at first glance. I know those little tags and color coded cable have made your life a lot easier. Truly terrifying. Truly awesome! I too, am jealous.

It's not the bill, it's the total current draw limitations. I'm feeding the rack from four household circuits, and each workstation is fed from a different circuit, to avoid overloading any circuit.
Yeah, using color coded Cat6 cable makes it easier to track. When I have to use a given color twice, I'll use colored electrical tape to flag the ends, so one yellow cable has its ends flagged red, another yellow cable has its ends flagged blue. The white tags have the unit's name on them.
The heavy bundle of black cables in the upper pic are KVM (Keyboard/Video/Mouse) cables, allowing me to use one keyboard, monitor, and mouse for the whole rack.
The power cables are red, yellow, blue, or green, to indicate which electrical circuit powers that unit.
@Miss B : The server blades are also noisy; small diameter high speed fans kind of sound like little jet engines. So, you'd not want these in your sleeping area nor even in your work space. I have them in the room furthest from where I work and from where I sleep.
