The Anchorage, Part 3

I'm not sure why morning people get so annoyed with afternoon people, Pen...it's got something to do with the Protestant work ethic drilled into so many of up with the dawn, work all day, go to bed early, I think. Dunno, just wish they would keep their thoughts to themselves and not make me want to hit them with a piece of 4x2.
Possibly...my husband is an ex army brat and I think that factors into the way he thinks.

I think we all learn from each other...I know I never knew as much about snow and blizzards before talking online. Not to mention the 3d stuff I've learnt and just general life stuff. I didn't know for example that American stamps had Forever on them...this will probably be it for me...I'm likely to go and flake out on the couch.

Aha!! That it will.

You have a good lay down, Pen, catch you later :)

I've just fired up the gennie and computer for my day's play. Every day the tide is one hour later so every day I have to wait an extra day before I can play. If I turn the gennie on before the tide changes, the boat fills up with carbon monoxide and I get sick. I feel it first round my lips, when they get irritated and start tingling I know the wind changed on me and Sans Souci is sitting with her stern to it. A very quick DS close down and gennie shut down then ensue...usually accompanied by much bad language.

Ooooo, it's Waitangi (aka NZ) Day in a week or so. Could be some interesting goings on down the road at Waitangi...the local Maori are having a stoush with the govverment and threatening to ban them! The suits may have to stay in Wellington ;)

I had planned to go to Stitch club tonight but...it starts right now! Wow, how did the last two hours go so fast?! Fun on the puter makes my clock turn off

Glad it's not just me! Canna believe how fast it went and the scene I was working on...still didn't get the lighting right. Ah well, there's always tomorrow. Got to shut it down as the breeze is going around to the south and Souc will soon be trying to kill me ;)

Its always so PEACEFUL here when I turn the gennie off. You don't realise how noisy it is till the noise stops :)

And of course... now that I got the work done I intended to do for the night... now my brain won't turn off...

*headdesk-groan* Argh!

I know that feeling well. I have been staying up until 1AM almost every night for the last couple weeks. Once the creative juices start to flow I can't shut it off....

It's just after midnight in NZ, Wednesday morning. I'll still be another couple of hours before I turn in. I can hear the gentle slapping of waves and rigging and that's about all. Very peaceful here tonight.

Huh. I am sitting on the mess deck of my ship at anchor. It's a huge Goliath of steel, so the only way to hear the waves is to be in the water. It's about 30 degree Fahrenheit in that water, so not the place to be. It would be peaceful here if someone wasn't watching Saving Private Ryan on a 60 inch television...

Water's so warm here at the mo...we've been having a heatwave the last few days and that water has been my saviour. Didn't go for a swim today but yesterday, oh it was lovely! We're getting the remnants of Cyclone Victor coming through later today so I'm guessing windy and humid with associated rain. Was up sticking duct tape round some of my windows this arvo, lovely job.

Well, I was right. I got about a 90 minute nap in before I got woken up by He-Who-Shall-Remain-Nameless throwing on every light in the house... and then from the doorway of the room asking me something-or-other involving caffeine and work lunch prep... I don't even remember what I said, but he's out the door and on his way to work now.

And I... am now once again wide awake.

Oh, well. I can be envious of both of you being on your ships and get some work done on Nataani's read-me file until I'm tired enough to go back to sleep. LOL

Lorraine - our next door neighbors are seasonals... they spend half the year here in the U.S., and then fly back to NZ for the second half of the year. He's a natural born U.S. citizen, but he married a Kiwi... a man who was forever known as a neverending skirt-chaser met his NZ wife on board of a cruise ship and decided to marry within two weeks of laying eyes on her... so far, they're holding together pretty well, and it's going on towards their 7th year. LOL They're in or around Auckland somewhere IIRC... run some kind of a food cart type business I think when they're over there... I have helped them do the graphic design/layout of their food menu/signage in past years.

Funnily enough, I have no problems whatsoever understanding her when we speak face to face... but put her on the phone and all of a sudden everything she says gets lost to the accent and I feel like I'm listening to a foreign language (and so does she when she listens to us on the phone!)

Anyway. I thought you would get a chuckle out of that. :) He always boasts to everyone that they'll spend the rest of their lives running from winter. :D

My husband finds it quieter at night so he gets most of his work done then and most of his sleep while I'm at work. The one who keeps trying to wake up the one who is sleeping is Red. LOL
Seliah, I hope you can get some sleep soon.
Lorrain, hopefully things won't get too uncomfortable with that weather coming in.
