When your credit card is hacked - GENERAL DISCUSSION

The update is that it is a third party that processes the payments and their site has been having difficulties for some hours and is now totally of line. I have no way of verifying this so I will not name the company involved but it does suggest it may not just be this site that has difficulty with payments.

I should further add that the site in question has now made a statement in their main forum along the lines of my previous post, so in fairness to them they are at least trying to keep their customer's informed.

I hope it all gets settled to your satisfaction Hornet. This type of scenario always puts a damper on things.

Thank you for your thoughts, thankfully the order was not that for a large amount and it looks as though it will get sorted. The only real downside was the items were from one of my favorite vendors and the sale is on for a limited period but hey, at the end of the day it is just a hobby. Your right though it does have a tendency to put a damper on things if only for a short period.

Hmmmm, I wonder if the store you purchased them at would make good on the sale price for you. From what you said, it wasn't their internal store workings that caused the problem, but a 3rd party. Even so, I'd think they'd like to keep you as a customer, and by giving you the product(s) at the sale price would be a good way to cement that relationship.

Just my 2¢ FWIW.

OK I promised to do an update on this so here goes. The pending charges to my cards seem to have either been removed or the have pending refunds so if no further transactions appear I should financially be back to where I was before the mess started.

The problem appears to have been fixed, I say appears as there has been no official announcement that it has but my original order has now gone thorough, hopefully without multiple charges.

I could also comment on how this has been handled but this is not the place so I will just suggest it might be a good precaution to look at the forums on any given site to see if there appear to be problems. Yet again - Buyer Beware.

Thank you both, it does all seem well with only one charge appearing, just need to wait and see if the pending charges resolve themselves.
