I know some folks down that way, it's just heartbreaking to hear of all the loss and devastation they are suffering through. I know an actor down that way and he's just staying inside. He posted some photos. They looked like literally Hell on Earth or the Apocalypse. Very very scary and air quality is off the charts. Stay safe if your down that way.

The stuff they show online also looks like Hell on Earth. With that battery plant having caught fire the air quality is even worse. I keep hoping they will be able to get things under control soon.

The weather was excessively oppressive today. I tried protesting against it, but got detained by ICE.

Seriously though, 91 degree heat. 93% Humidity. Even with the AC in the computer/bedroom it was too hot and uncomfortable to sit at the computer to work. The ac (a window unit) did not shut off all day.
I only have 1 closet left upstairs to wash and paint, but it was too hot today to crawl into a closet (no ac upstairs or in most of the house).

Fortunate here in the Pacific NW - we're not getting the heat wave much of the rest of the country is experiencing. Stay safe, those of you in high heat areas!

Spring is coming and the temps are changing in the morning from a cold 16c to a mild 16c

Wattle trees are blooming

and the roos are bounding around the place along with the noisy possums.

flooding rains have eased off and the southerly busters have abated.

We have survived another unprecedented winter

a term I hardly ever heard of before 2018.

How's hot is it here today outside of Los Angeles? One of our resident Fox Squirrels renders his opinion (seeking refuge in the shade)....

humidity is a dangerous 27% and temps around 24c ( 78f )

The possums have been teasing the dog at night and the roos and foxes are about. :inverted:

Los Angeles has been moderate in temperature, but overcast. I gather we'd been promised rain, but it hasn't materialized.

We finally got a couple of days of much needed rain here in Redwood City, CA but now we are back to skies that tease us with probably NO RAIN. It's what it is in this area of the world. When I lived in Florida back when I was MUCH younger when they said RAIN, we got rain and lots of it. Here on the West Coast it's almost laughable most of the time when the forecasters say "looks like rain" then we all fall to the floor laughing and then cry when we get water rationing notices!

this image is a snapshot of what has happened in my immediate area where we live in the past 48 hours!

Bushfire, bat mobile arrived, millions of flying foxes at dusk. I mentioned above that the humidity was at a dangerous low.

today it is at 40%
