Which is why I turned the AC back on.

Apparently, we're not really going to have any break in the AC/Heating bills between summer and winter this year.

I think you're right, and luckily I don't have to pay separate heating bills, but I'm soooo ready to have smaller electric bills.

I don't have to pay extra heating bills but yup, it looks like the AC bill won't go away anytime soon.

It should be about 80 degrees but it's extra hot and extra smokey due to fires not far from here. Every year the bush combusts due to the heat and starts a firestorm. It looks like it did when the eclipse hit. My smartphone just went off and gave me a warning about Firestorm 2017!

Wonderful! I'm not sure I could live that close to where there are annual forest fires.

It's our bane. We get Firestorms every year. A good Earthquake ever so often. However, no twisters like in the midwest or hurricanes like the Southeast. Also, we are still by the sea and there is nothing like seeing the blue oceans and a pods of whale steam by any time of year.

And we are paying about 3 bucks for a gallon of gas (or petrol as Mythocentric calls it. When they aren't using a horse and carriage as they do in White O' Morn).

Sorry! My bad! I just couldn't resist but I sit corrected! Of course I sit in a hybrid electric car but I still sit corrected. :D

I shouldn't chide you. Kerosene to keep warm is a precious thing across the pond.

Supposed to be sunny and pretty cool here. 36 right now with a projected high of 61. We'll see what actually happens.

That's what we had here yesterday. It was horrible, so I don't envy you one bit.

Today it's overcast and 10C.

The temperatures are dipping into the negative temperatures at night, now.

In fact we had the winter tires put on my wife's car today. I'll do my car this weekend.

I'm a fall baby, and I love autumn when the leaves are all bright yellow and orange...but the colourful stuff doesn't last long here.

The trees seem to go from bright to brown in what feels like a week (it's actually longer than this of course). And then it's brown trees and dead grass and cold grey skies and generally colourless blah until the snow finally arrives and commits to staying for the winter. The golden brown prairie fields have a stark beauty, but ... ick.

As much as I question my sanity for living in a place where the winter weather will actually literally freeze my face off (or bits of it anyway) if given the chance, I'm looking forward to bright snowy winter days.

We do get a lot of sunshine in the winter here, which makes it bearable for me. This no-sun grey stuff isn't good for my mental health. :x3:

Sounds wonderful, James. It wasn't until I joined the Army and was stationed in Massachusetts that I remembered just how nice a change of the seasons can be. I did get over it quickly when I had to shovel this strange thing that easterners call, "Snow" but I like the weather change.

I like the change of seasons too, I just wish they weren't such drastic changes.
