The Anchorage, Part 3

Seliah, that tree has given me the screaming abdabs. My toes curled up in sympathy and I brrrrrrred. That's pretty hard to do when you are as hot as I am!

Winston...yes, he is stubborn. He's stubborn, inflexible and a pain in the patootie. By the time he gets to us he will have lost much of his vigour but he could still pack a wallop. Bed is the safest place when a cyclone comes calling.

My gosh, I'm knackered. I feel like I've been run over by a bus, the bus backed up a la Winston and came back for another go! Heading to bed early. Nights everyone :inverted:

Thanks, Lorraine. :) You are a true sweetheart. It is so good to see all of you again. I don't know about everyone else in the N hemisphere, but I have had a rough winter.

I hope you are all well and happy!

Yay! Jan is back! We missed you! Sorry to hear that you've had a rough winter...hugs Pen

Hi Terre! Not sure what that stupid cyclone is doing now. I think I'll forget about it till I'm in bed and it is or isn't trying to throw me out. Fiji was really banged up. Over 40 is now the death toll, thousands without homes, power, water. NZ and Australia have sent a lot of aid, people to help, and shelters. Going to be a long time before normality returns. Poor buggers.

Not something I'd ever want to endure, that's for sure. Glad to see you're still safe Lorraine.

Nope, nope, NOPE! That would be a nope! Horrendous plus some.

The cyclone news: Cyclone Winston has just been de-cycloned and is now a tropical low, set to bring some rain to us on Sunday, Monday. Ex-cyclone Winston (that's its actual name!) is currently sulking its way down the Tasman Sea, feeling put upon and grouchy because no one is going to pay him any attention after all the excitement of the last two and a half weeks. Such is the price of fame, here today, fizzed out and forgotten, the next. That is the end of the weather bulletin, returning you now to your regularly scheduled program.

:tantrum:

Lorraine, you are too much!!!

Glad he had the wind taken out of his sails, though, for your sake! :) We have thunderstorm rolling right now. I haven't heard good rolling thunder in a long time. Best music I could have woken up to. LOL

I'm too much?! You are making excited noises about thunderstorms. THUNDERSTORMS! Those big crack bang things that send spiky bits of electricity down to light up your bones! ~shudder~

Glad to hear it's fizzled out. Thunderstorms aren't fun, but much safer than a cyclone. Then again, you live on the water.

Yeah. I'm sure I wouldn't be thrilled with them if I was living on the water, either. But being the landlubber I am, I have the luxury of enjoying them without having to worry about them cracking my home apart around me. :)

Yeah they only bother me with the first loud roll of thunder, because if it isn't preceded by some lightening, I'm caught unawares, and usually jump 5 feet when I hear it. After that I'm fine.

All I can do in a big thunderstorm is hide under the blankets and say like a mantra "the boat next door's mast is taller than mine, the boat next door's mast is taller than mine" ~double shudder~ Not fun.

My aunt, my mum's sister, used to go out into thunderstorms and stand with arms outstretched getting 'recharged'. My opinion, even as a child, was that her sheep had left the top paddock.

Well Lorraine, I've heard that stated a lot of different ways over the years, but I have to admit I've never heard it stated quite that way.

It's my favourite, I'm also partial to sandwiches short of a picnic, the icing has melted from cake, and very little butter on bread.

The lights are on, but nobody's home! That's one I use a lot. :)

And LOL Lorraine, I think I would have the same opinion if I saw someone doing that...
