The Anchorage, Part 3

Bout 150miles/240kms. Takes about three and a bit hours by car, four hours by bus.
What is the speed limit on highways there? To me 150 miles is less than three hours by car. of course most of that is just open highway going through rangeland and past fields with a few scattered towns along the way.

Our speed limit is 100ks/60mph. The road to Auckland is State Highway 1 and carries a lot of traffic. Goes through very windy hilly country with few passing lanes, one city (Whangarei) and two bottleneck towns. In summer the traffic through those two towns will be at a crawl and can easily add another hour to the trip. We also have heaps of logging trucks and milk tankers plus camper vans with overseas drivers to deal with. They get to NZ, hop in their camper van and head north having never travelled on the left side of the road before. Scary.

It sure is! Fortunately, she's left the replacement roll alone. But, she still has the stray sheets she tore off the roll to play with. Or rather ... destroy.

Good morning. :)

Lorraine, we have enough farm vehicles here to see things slowed down quite a bit.

Pen, You're welcome. I hope today went well.
Satira, kitties and paper..... Oh boy.

Morning all :)

That easterly yesterday cooled things down nicely and I had a great sleep last night...even needed a blanket. Had some very odd dreams but.

Terre, that brrr sounds way too cool to be cool. I like the sort of cool that means a refreshing nights sleep instead of tossing and turning in the humidity. We'll get more of that as the week progresses and the easterlies depart. Sigh.

But today is going to be a goodie. Just had a call from a friend and we are going swimming! Getting picked up from the yacht club at 1pm and taken off to a beach. Fun, fun, fun :)

Night Terre

Gosh. I got home from the doctor and pharmacy about 1 pm, answered a work email to let my contact know how the visit went. (I may not have an infection in my eye after all, but I have to go back Thursday).

Then I watched Galavant (I'm not crazy about musicals, but I make an exception for Galavant!), and then ... I napped until 8:30 pm!

By the way ... I never realized just how cool Timothy Omundson is. I'd really only seen him in Monk previously. But he's fabulous in Galavant. He's also rather appealing with longer hair and in armor :D

Oh I'd follow a dragon no matter who the human with him (or her) was. ;)

Timothy Omundson played the cop on Monk, didn't he?

Evening all...it's been 29 here today so not too hot.

@Terre, it was a good day...my new kids seem quite good. My ASD student has settled reasonably well but takes a lot of work to keep him on task.

@Satira, you've had a run of bad luck healthwise recently... I hope that everything turns out well for you.

Evening, Pen :) Glad to hear it's cooler over there. It's warming up here again but it was gorgeous coming home in the dinghy tonight. The Southern Cross looked amazing, and the pointers were so bright. No moon and no clouds and a warm night make for a magic boat ride :)

Also glad to hear things and a small ASD boy are settling down at school. School went back here today and suddenly the streets were empty and quiet...spooky, possums!
