The Anchorage, Part 3

Good after-morning :) And look at my view today, is that nice or what?! There's a lovely cool breeze and I am just sitting here in my chair enjoying it. The humidity has gone for now :applause: hoorah!

It sure is a wonderful present, Terre, I'm still in shock a wee bit. My sister is prone to doing things like this, two years ago she sent me some warm sheets for my bed for my birthday and rang to tell me there was a new mattress to go with them! Gobsmacked I was then and gobsmacked I am now :)

Pretty cool huh?! And it's a 360* view too. I'm looking east now with fluffy clouds added to the picture :)

I am sooooo jealous as I sit here waiting for what the Washington Post has dubbed Snowzilla to start. :(

Just like when we went through the superstorm Sandy years ago, I have flashlights in every room, with plenty of batteries, so that should be good. I don't think the electricity will be a problem here, as we don't have any above ground power lines in this neighborhood, so that shouldn't be a problem, but you never know. I think Mother Nature delights in screwing up everyone's plans. ;)

Oh Miss B, that's ghastly! As I sat here in my summer shift I actually shivered, brrrr. You stay warm and wrapped up, you hear, don't want to hear any tales of frostbite!

Hmmm, I'm using the computer now and all I can see in my photo is lack of paint! I should be out there with sanding paper and paint and what am I doing? Playing on the puter!

Oh hell no!! If I have to go out and the weather's really cold, I just put on my Shearling coat, Shearling boots, and Shearling mittens. If I can't keep warm with those, I'm in biiiiig trouble. Of course, I haven't had to wear them in years. For some reason NYC is warmer than a lot of surrounding areas. I remember reading something about it, but don't recall the exact effect that causes it.

We haven't had a snow storm like this in many years, so it should be interesting to see if we actually get as much snow as predicted.

Good...some of the shearling boots look like our ugg boots and those I know are nice and toastie.

I had to look up Ugg boots, and they are similar though a little taller. Mine come up high enough to just cover my ankle, but the Ugg boots I just saw at the manufacturer's site look an inch or two higher. Mine have laces up the front and are very comfortable.

IT'S SNOWING!!! I just looked out my picture window in the living room, and there's snow on the ground. It's patchy at best, so it must've just started.

That said, the news just reported we could have as much as 15". YUCK!! New Jersey, just west of us, has already announced a State of Emergency. Don't know if that will happen here in New York. Sheesh!!

Snow...I want to :squee: because that's so exciting in Australia but I know that it can cause all kinds of issues elsewhere.

15" from memory of imperial measurements that about up to my knees...hope everyone stays safe and doesn't have to go anywhere.
