Morning all...my mum goes in for her surgery today so I'll be here for a while this morning until we take her in to the hospital and then depending on what Dad wants to do will depend on what we do. He may want to come home as she will be having medicine to clear out her system today and the procedure tomorrow. She's 85 this Christmas so fingers crossed that all goes well...

Hey everyone!

Pen, my very best wishes to your mum and I hope all goes well :grouphug: xxx

I found out what was happening yesterday, the Ngati Hine (nar-tay hee-nay) iwi (ee-wee = tribe) were celebrating their affinity and guardianship of the river. They launched far up and followed it as it merged with other rivers and finally entered the sea at Opua.

Got all enthusiastic this arvo and fired up the gennie, did some jig sawing on three shelves to take their brutal head and elbow bashing corners off and then started the puter. Got it sorted out and then needed to shut down as the gennie fumes were blowing indoors. Blasted tide changes! I'll have another go tomorrow.

Thanks Terre and Lorraine, just got back from taking her in and getting her settled and brought Dad home also. Operation is tomorrow and because of her age and health they will put her straight into ICU when she comes out of surgery.

@Lorraine, that would be frustrating! Hope you have better luck tomorrow.

Everything went well. Went in and saw her yesterday evening. Typing this at work during my lunch hour as I didn't get chance until now to get on the forum. Fingers crossed she keeps going well...they put her straight into ICU which is where we saw her yesterday.

~Whew~ I'll uncross my fingers, as it's hard to type that way, but keep my toes crossed until we get further good news.

Do you have any idea how long she'll be in hospital?

Glad to hear that, Pen. :)

Dreamer, that sounds good too. Mine still needs a little work but is safe to drive while the parts come in.
