Since I shared a couple of these Snakes teaser images elsewhere... I'll post them here plus my first Iray render of the Western Diamondback.

For those would don't know, I have a very personal relationship with rattlers. Being an avid hiker and living in rattlesnake country, I've had many encounters over my life. In my mid-20s, while rock climbing, I place my hand up of a ledge. Suddenly it felt like a sprained my thumb and quickly pulled my hand off the ledge... it was then I heard the rattle. Around an hour and half later, I was at Palmdale General getting anti-venom. Fortunately, it was believed that I surprised the snake as much as I was, the snake didn't have time to prepare a strike-- hence very little venom and tissue damage. That snake was the "Southern Pacific Rattlesnake". I debated on adding it to these sets but didn't... maybe if I do a Volume 2

Very nice indeed. I think I may have mentioned that I used to try to get to the North American Reptile Breeders Expo when they held it somewhere I could get to. Lots and lots of baby scaly-faces up for adoption. And the genetics of king snakes and corn snakes were a positive invitation to create designer snakes. Stripes! Polka dots! Just about any color but blue!

If I do a Volume 2, I'll add the Red-belly to the list. The Copperhead, King snake and my Southern Pacific Rattler are already on that list.

The only endemic Australian snake I have right now is the Inland Taipan, which very few people have ever seen.

It lives in the black soil plains in the semi-arid regions where the Queensland and South Australia borders converge. It is considered the most venomous snake on the planet with a single strike delivering enough venom to kill over 100 adult humans. It is an extremely fast and agile snake that can strike instantly with extreme accuracy, often striking multiple times in the same attack, and it envenomates in almost every case.

I thought it might be useful to create a paired human/snake pose set... so I started to goof around. It seemed to me that the most obvious human/snake pose would require a few extra props, so I modeled a basket and a flute, then threw Dusk and a King Cobra in to see if that might work...

@Ken Gilliland I can probably come up with 10 snake and man poses that wouldn't need props. Not sure how quickly I could finish though.
I'm planning to do 4 human/snake matched poses (with the flute and basket props). They support Dusk/Dawn, L'homme/La Femme, G8M/G8F and G9M/G9F. They'll be (Male poses)... snake charmer and Hopi Rattlesnake dance and (Female poses) a coral snake curled/wrap around the neck or the arm (13th Warrior Movie). I'll probably also do the boa wrapped around a female figure similar to the famous Nastassja Kinski photo.

Here's a render I'll probably use for the main promo on the pose set done in Iray....

I have three of the four poses pretty well set.. After finishing the fourth one (Mother of the Wendol), the hard part starts with converting the poses to the various human figures. Poses don't convert well from figure to figure-- even from G8 to G9 there are issues. I'm "iffy" on L'homme/La femme support... L'homme blew up trying to cross its legs... Dusk was better but there's sizeable canyons at the hip/thighs (clothing will cover that issue)...but I'll keep trying.

One trick I use in Poser is to load the figure the pose is intended for and set it's display mode to Outline. Then apply the pose to the target figure, and adjust as nescessary to best possible fit inside the outlined figure.

**Edit - apply the pose to both figures the adjust target figure to line them up.
