It's the final day of my annual Audubon Charity sale.

"A true conservationist is a man who knows that the world is not given by his fathers, but borrowed from his children." -J.J. Audubon

Next month, I'll have two products out, "Nature's Wonders Moths of the World v4" (Giant Moths is required for this product), and a "special" Renderosity release that they commissioned from me (in both DS & Poser formats). This release will first appear as a "Freebie" to Renderosity users for 30 days in May, then revert back to an item (for sale) in my catalog. I've had a lot of positive feedback on the commission and I'm guessing it will be well received.

I'm busily developing my next model base set for June and thought I'd share a picture of its early development. Like most of sets, the plan is to have a base model that does everything... I guess we'll see if that really possible. I've chosen 4 snakes for the base set and another 7-8 for a first add-on volume. The base set will have Cleopatra's infamous asp, a Western Diamondback, a Two-lined Racer and a Gopher Snake.

My goal here was to finally have a Poser/DS snake that doesn't bend like a hexagon nut... that can actually do that slither and look relatively smooth. For the pose(s) used below. it shows that improvement off. I hope to have lots of master controls and/or poses to take most of the pain out of having to pose a 70ish segment creature.

Noodles! And yes, please, on the pose controls. There are model snakes with pose controls, but it's the *whole* snake. Not in anything like sections. Being able to curl the top third, or the bottom third or whatever would take a bit of the pain out of the process.

( I'm currently stuck needing to create an occamy for illustrating a fic. It's a nightmare. A snake with feathers, wings and a beak. )

Bending the "Whole" snake and its hexagon looking bends always annoyed me in existing snake models.... my snake is divided in 5 sections (the 3 middle sections with 18-20 body parts per section); each with its separate set of EZ Pose controls (Head, Fore, Mid, Hind and Tail). So it's now possible to bend just a portion of the snake.

I call this pose... Circular Reference

Snakes eating their own tails is a rare behavior, and the reasons behind it are not fully understood. It's believed to be a combination of factors, including stress, confusion, and perhaps even mistaken identity with prey. In some cases, snakes may become disoriented due to heat stress or be confused by their surroundings, mistaking their own tail for food.

This pose was created entirely by using the sectional EZ pose controls in the BODY. I took me about 3 minutes to create. This image will probably be in my promos for the set just to show how easy it is to pose this model.
