Reinstalling DS, converting things to Dawn and Diva and my experiments along the way

So continuing to work on sorting my runtime out. Every so often I will stop and play. I'd forgotten how much I liked the original genesis. Dawn is wearing bobbie25's elegant gown for genesis. Some mesh distortion in the front as I couldn't get the dynamic's to work with that pose.

So after much drama I've managed to get a workable pair of boots for Dawn 2. I've converted Florabelle across from Genesis.
Process for anyone who is interested is:
Load the item but do not fit to Dawn yet. Send Dawn and boots to zbrush or whatever modelling program you use.
Go back to DS and fit boots to Dawn. Up to here is my normal process and I'll normally choose update base mesh. However I get a better weight map if instead at this point after fitting the boots to Dawn I select create new object.
For some reason using autofit seems to mangle them even after updating the base mesh but creating a weightmap using the transfer utility works better.
After doing this I use the transfer utility to transfer the surface groups. I then have to tidy them up as it doesn't always get everything correct.
I use ctrl ++ to grow selections wherever possible as it's less fiddly.
Morphs are worse as I haven't found the transfer utility to do those well at all. So I dial them into the original boots after adding a dawn fit but don't fit them to Dawn herself.

Needless to say at times very frustrating.
Both the outfit and the headmorphs for Dawn are up now Renderosity - 3D Models | 3D Software | 3D Art
Still need to do the fae faces one and the others I did for Fantasy Attics Christmas giveaway.

So I started the morning feeling I really needed projection templates and starting to work out how to save them.

So I was testing something I did, the autofit menu was coming up like it should but the template wasn't showing so I deleted it but when I tried loading another pair of pants from genesis no autofit showed up but it fitted the pants perfectly without autofit showing up.
Age of Armor executioner trousers after loading, no alterations in zbrush by me. It's weird...does Daz Studio contain AI?
Image of them and the only poke thru which has been eliminated using smoothing.

I also noticed this morning that there are new save files and some of the old ones have been deprecated.
Anyone know the best way to save dynamic or morphs now?

So I restarted my computer. Restarted DS. The same trousers fit without autofit.
So I tried Genesis 2 and 2 both trigger autofit both fit behind Dawn where I would expect them to load.
Have I trained DS over the last few days to automatically place Genesis clothing further forward as I've been doing a lot of converting to Dawn 2 from Genesis?
Off to experiment some more.

Okay so after more experimentation it seems to be just moving it forward on clothing but not actually altering the shape still rather perplexed by it all.
