Jungle Hunt

Leaftossers mostly forage while hopping, rather than walking on the ground. They flip aside leaves and peck at leaf litter and rotting logs, searching for invertebrates; including beetles, ants, roaches, grubs, arachnids & other insects.

The Labrador Duck was the only bird with a range limited to the American coast of the North Atlantic. It has been extinct for over 150 years, although the reason for this is not fully explained.

Seeker

These birds sit still on a perch in small trees, scanning surrounding foliage for prey; then they either suddenly move to a new perch, or burst forth to scoop prey they have spotted from the undersides of leaves; after which they continue, without pause, to a new perch.

Sprint

The Guam Rail was indigenous to Guam, where it was once abundant. However it evolved in the absence of predators and although capable of short bursts of flight, it seldom flew. Thus after the brown tree snake was accidentally transported to Guam it became Critically Endangered.

Prairie Dancer

The Greater Prairie-chicken is known for its mating dance which it uses in hopes of attracting females. Their displays consist of inflating air sacs located on the side of their neck and snapping their tails.
