Everything 1.5 beta (May 2026) - adds drag-and-drop to Poser and DAZ, tagging, Boolean search

The freeware local search tool Everything 1.5 is now in open beta (May 2026). It can now drag-and-drop from your runtime to the Poser or DAZ Studio stage. It also adds tagging, and is even faster than before. Everything 1.5 Beta - voidtools forum

Setup:

1. Options | Folders | Add. Add your runtimes. 'Index Subfolders', 'Never Rescan'. 'Rescan now'.

2. Top Menu | Search | tick 'Match Path'. This picks up your keywords in the file path, as well as the filename.

3. Options | Search | tick 'Allow Literal Operators'. This lets you use the Boolean AND, OR and NOT in search queries. e.g. M4 hair NOT chair

4. Top menu | Search | Organise Filters. Add a new filter to remove unwanted filetypes from results, such as...

NOT *.jpg NOT *.xmp NOT *.obj NOT *.dso NOT *.rsr NOT *.dsv NOT *.pmd NOT *.db NOT *.tif NOT *.dsd

Add more unwanted filetypes as needed.

5. Now do a test search. Sort search results by 'Date Created', to have drag-drop items sitting right next to their thumbnails. Drag-drop has been tested for figures, poses, clothing, expressions. All working.

Tagging sensibly uses the Properties | Tags metadata that Windows has in all .PNG files. Thus no special third-party software is needed to add/remove tags from your runtime thumbnails.
