so I gave in and bought the two tempesta characters and the shapes for Dawn2
Still have to convert the shapes to ds but I've started work on doing DS settings for the mat. At this pioint she is still looking a bit sweaty
I'm trying to follow the settings for Dawn 2's base texture as I really like it but just ctrl clicking isn't very successful and neither is using DawnSE's settings.
I[ve packed the gruggle monk poses and I'm finialising the Genesis 9 promos at the moment.

So the question is what to do next. I think I might focus on organising my runtime until after Christmas and maybe working on the skin settings for Tempesta's characters and possible the shapes.

So I have the angel head in DS just not the body. I'm remembering why I don't like Poser as much as DS.
Skin setting were applied to dawn 2 in Poser, saved as a cr2 and then opened in DS and look better than the mats applied in ds. Not sure why that is.
I did have to copy and paste the eyes though from the Dawn 2 iray settings as all I got in DS was white as opacity on the conjuctiva surface was 100.
I also noticed that the cornea in the cr2 I saved is listed as conjuctiva? Anyone know why this would be?

I think I've managed to work a few things out.
First her body shape is based on the morphs that come in the additional shapes package they aren't custom.
However even with injecting the morphs the shape isn't changing but the dials are reading a point figure e.g. .63
Having looked at the inj file I was able to work out in DS that these figures need to be 63/100 so I could get a shape that looks like it could be right.
But it mentions JCM's on off and I'm not sure which I need to select and then it lists figures for JCM's so I'm thinking she has overridden them.

Frustrating afternoon. I was watching a video on converting shapes between genesis 8 and 9 and started down the track of can I do this with Dawn as it uses the clone. I think I need to rewatch it as I'm thinking it should be possible. My head started to melt down so I went back to converting hair to Dawn 2.

@RAMWolff have you seen where they create an autofit clone to create shapes from Genesis 8 to 9?
After watching this I was wondering if we can do similar in Daz Studio with DawnSE to Dawn 2?

The conversion trick that he speaks about on YouTube, I've tried before. It's very involved. I THINK I succeeded but yea, you have to REALLY want the exact shape to go through all that. I guesstimated my Gino shape from Genesis 8 for L'Homme. It wasn't exact but def a close relative. I was under the assumption that part of the tools that were provided for Dawn 2 was a clone of Dawn 1 and other bits and bobbles to get things moved over to her a little more quickly but alas when Cath had to drop everything to move out of the USA to get medical attention the release for Dawn 2 was limited and kinda blah so all the wind went out of that release. In her packs there were more tools and even, sort of, a Dusk 2 set up but we are still HOPING that when her health improves she will go ahead and release all her goodies and then maybe Dawn 2 will have her day in the sun. Until then I gave up trying to make anything for her as I mostly support male shapes and well without her male shape it just seemed like it would be a failed opportunity since I'm actually trying here and there to make a little money doing this. So until her stuff is released I concentrate on L'Homme 1 and 2 that I actually like working with and Genesis 8. Not too much of a fan of Genesis 9 truth be told.

Shorts and top will go up over at rendo along with the other items after Christmas. Most likely I'll start working on it Boxing Day.

It's said that she needed to go to another country to have her health looked after. I was glad to see her post her health was improving. I can't imagine living in a country like that. We have our issues but compared to the USA it's minor.
I go to the doctor it gets bulk billed so I don't have to pay for the visit. There are some doctors where you do pay and then claim back some of the amount but where I go it's basically free. Hospital you can go public which often means a wait or if you have health insurance you can go private.
When I had surgery on my breast a few years back I did it private so it would be done quicker but it cost less than $1000 due to insurance. Day procedure so in and out in a day.
I like Genesis 9 and will probably play some more with the figure eventually. I just wanted to have some fun with Dawn 2 first. I don't see investing in L'homme or L'Femme as they are Poser only figures and they don't really appeal to me enough to shell out over$50 once exchange rates are taken into account.
That said I do like playing with Nursoda and Smay's figures in DS but I've had many of them like Hein and Vila for years.

I only got the shape for L'Homme by taking both LH and Genesis 8 into ZBrush, setting LH in "ghost mode" so I could see what I was doing and then just pushed and pulled and whatever else I did to get the shape as close as I could. I don't often worry about the body shape as I usually don't do really extreme shapes so as long as I can get it close I'm happy. It's the face shape that's really important.
I tell you, some brilliant artist is going to come up with something or AI will to make all this reshaping stuff easier when working with figures from various stables like Genesis 8 or 9 t> Dusk or Dawn or L'Homme or Lafemme. It's just a matter of time. And before anyone say's that's impossible, nothing is impossible! LOL
