Sol Class Armor
Replacement for Jupiter Class Armor
Caption
TITLE: "Sol Class Battlearmor"
SERIES: None
MEDIA: "Pencil Illustration"
YEAR: 1992-2004
BACKGROUND:
This is a design for a heavy battle-armor for one of my various Sci-Fi settings. The design lineage is heavily influenced by sources such as Metroid, Warhammer 40K, Star Wars, Bubblegum Crisis, among others. This is the modular "Sol" class armor, designed to replace the aging "Jupiter" series armor used by the defense forces. This particular suite appears to have seen some action, and is outfitted with a field operations and communications pack, and a heavy plasma gun on the right arm.

This image was created using a number 2, hard lead pencil, and a .05mm Technical Pencil. It was rendered on a medium tooth drawing surface, 8.5x11 inch,as found in a leatherbound, Tara sketchbook. I do not know how long the piece took, as it was started in 1992, and sat for over a decade before being completed in 2004.
