Prototype Advanced Exo Frame
Caption
After years of development, a war machine was finally designed to replace battle satellites for close in defense of capital ships. The GP 17 Combat Exo Frame was the first mass produced Combat Exo Frame, but it would soon be joined by many variations. Still much slower than traditional Aerospace fighters, by taking advantage of the humanoid form and the strategic placement of apogee motors, it was far more maneuverable. In fact, it was quickly learned that if limiters and governors were not put in place, pilots would unwittingly subject themselves to dangerous, even fatal G forces. Everything possible was done to mitigate this, including specially pressurized flight suits, but loss in effective combat response was a concern. Pilots required extensive specialised training to be effective in Combat Exo Frames, and needed to meet rigorous physical fitness requirements. Combat Exo Frames proved extremely costly and time consuming to deploy, and as a result never saw as wide spread use as other craft. A handful of them might be deployed with a Battleship or Carrier group - two or three might be assigned to a cruiser. They would never gain combat supremacy, and would remain in primarily support roles.

Prototype kitbash of Mobile Suit inspired Exo-Frame.

Based off of a kitbash I had seen in the old F.V.C.S. construction threads long ago at the old Daz3D forums (pre2012). I would credit the original but the details of the original creator are lost to me.
