BACKGROUND:
In late 2997, the Crennon Legion sought to replace its aging ranks of Corvexes Armored Soldiers with a more versatile and cost effective machine. The Armored Soldier Mk. II was exactly what the Legion was looking for. A fast, lightweight, manueverable machine that had added versatility through the addition of various upgrade packs and weapon loadouts. A perfect war machine to work with the Legion's small unit style of guerilla warfare. The AS Mk.II entered production just prior to the division wars, and saw continual production throughout the twelve year war. More AS Mk.IIs were fielded during the war than any other mecha by the Crennon Legion.
This image was created using Artistic Lining Pens. It was rendered on a medium tooth drawing surface, found in a leatherbound, Tara sketchbook (8.5 x 11 inch). The entire piece took me about 6 hours to complete. It is one of many planned mechanical designs for an ongoing science fiction storyline I was working on at the time. The majority of other designs never did get finished. I hope someday to return to this (among other) projects.
