Thanks for the vote of confidence! I have a few surprises in store for the reader. Robin is aware of a few of them. Terre pretty much guessed one of the surprises (who the third person affected by the blast), but that person isn't even the main bad guy.

My mind is constantly seeking cause and effect and analyzing everything. Asking where things come from and are going, how they relate to other things..... etc.

I only revealed a small portion of the Forester family skeletons. And even though the 3rd person affected by the blast is his enemy and is apparently trying to destroy him, most of the trouble is caused by a very surprising enemy: one who may or may not be super powered....

Even in a superhero story enemies don't have to be superpowered to be dangerous or at least effective. It'll be interesting to see what comes next.

This is true. Spiderman and Superman greatest enemies are both highly intelligent unpowered humans. This is always because of the hero code that they do not kill. A code adhered to comics but not in the movies where the writers are arguably more bloodthirsty.

I think it's the push to make those movies more "realistic" that causes that. And let's face it, there are some villains that we all wish would get killed.

Oh yeah, one more important point: I have been developing this character and story for more than 30 years. I have layers upon layers in this story. So just when you think you have it figured out, you don't....

I think both of you are right. In a comic book that intends, at least in the beginning to run forever, you can generally count between 12 to 14 months and that villain will return. You can't kill him off because you need him. The movies are different. They may plan to have one more than one movie but if the profits aren't there, there is no way the studio would risk more cash by making another one. Thus you get finite endings. Even ones that leave ENORMOUS plot holes or break the rules of canon by revealing secret identities and killing off the bad guy.

There are only so many 'Great' villains to go around. You even need lower level villains to fill the pages and make the more evil ones more fulfilling. Heck, sometimes the best villians are evil by necessity or revenge and it challenges the hero to be a better hero. One thing I've noticed as I write my own series (It briefly nods to rokket Marysville as a tip of the hat to my friend. Siegel and Shuster started off with less, my friend) is that the bad guys are often more fun to write.

Remember the old admonishment of the teacher to the student: I taught you everything you know. I didn't teach you everything I know!
In our case, I told you a lot of the story, but I didn't tell you everything. And the story is changing as I write it.

And yeah, that image of the elder Beneducci in the pimp hat is one of my favorites.
