I think figure choices are a personal thing. It comes down what the artist enjoys working with.
I have a very strong preference for Genesis 1, as for ME, personally, it is the most versatile figure in my library.
But I also still use the Gen4's AND the Gen3's on a regular basis.
I love Dawn and Dusk - but I can't use them in my own artwork on a regular basis yet, because there is a huge lack for clothing and skins and some other stuff that I need as a story illustration artist where appearances of the characters MUST remain consistent.
I like Miki 4 as a figure, but see my comments regarding Dawn and Dusk.
Same goes for Roxie.
I actually also DO like Paul and Pauline, but again, refer to my comments regarding Dawn and Dusk.
I make content for the HW figures, and for the Daz Genesis and Gen4/Gen3 lines. Because I enjoy working with all of them. LOL
I might try some stuff for Paul and Pauline eventually, but at the moment, I feel like I'm working with my hands tied on both figures in the morphs area. I like their shape and proportions and the way they bend, but they lack in most content yet.
In the end, the figures we use comes down to personal preference. I do NOT like the Genesis 2 or Genesis 3 figures at all. Every artist will go with the figures they enjoy the most, and the figures they find the most useful. I don't think it's fair to compare apples and oranges, and comparing different figure lines is doing just that.
