I mostly grew up in New Mexico and Quarterhoraes are the bigger thing with Joe Average so I was a little more aware of them. Had a funny occur because of that. We were heading to Lubbock to visit my grandparents on a windy day of the year that Real Wind won the All American Futurity and when we came to the city where her owners live there was a billboard on the edge of town saying "Home of Real Wind". My mother was surprised to learn that was a horse. She thought is was just a reference to the wind. LOL

Quarter horses are gorgeous. I may have already said this but my brother in law bred them for many years. He had two stallions...Calaban who was an absolute honey and Sugar Daddeo who was definitely not. Calaban was a racehorse too and did very well.

We had two horses on our place growing up, but they didn't belong to us. They were only pastured there. They were both quarter horses, a black one named Smokey and a brown one named Daniel. We knew they were there, but really the only time we saw them was when the owners came over to ride or tend to them.

My grandfather had a Shetland pony that was very old and cranky. He didn't want anyone on his back. But that didn't stop my brother from trying. So he would either try to rub my brother off on a tree or find his way to the pond in the middle of the pasture. It was about 4 feet deep in the middle. So if you were on his back, you were getting wet. My brother found the middle of the pond more than once before he finally gave up. The pony died near the border of grandpa's land. Grandpa knew right away that the horse was gone, because the cranky old guy never missed feeding in the morning.

Cross post. I wanted to put this here because I don't know if quietrob ventures into the Dawn render thread. This is Dawn SE with some tweaking of her starter morphs and hair I refit to her.

It's a little after 1AM here. Good night. This one is finished. I am going to save it as a pose file so I can load it when I want to use that face.
I will wait until I can get the head morphs and see if I can get her to look like Daisy Ridley, who plays Rey on Star Wars The Force Awakens.

rokket I'm everywhere. Especially when it comes to all things rokket. There are two figures I really want to try out. One is Haru by chocolate. The other, well, I have expressed interest in Dawn SE and after skipping lunch and salting that money away I should have enough to get her on sale except that now you mention starter morphs. I'm hoping you mean the morphs that come with the figure rather than a separate packet. It's true. Sometimes you see a look in an ad and think I want to reproduce and do something else with that look. It's like backgrounds. I like backgrounds but I like being able to incorporate them into my art. Some, I won't be able to as the original artist made proprietary props and are not releasing them. Others I can at least approximate a seashore or snowy mountains or even a village. Of course awesomeness overrules all and sets my course so that I will scarf up some backgrounds whether I can reproduce the results or not. Geez I digressed. It's not the cost of the morph packs. It's the waiting to get each one to reproduce results or take it further.

So far she already resembles Rey quite a bit. I'm anxious to see how your dial spins will look on Dawn. It's the expressions that will your render comes to life. They should be intense.

Right now I'm working on a few different projects at once. I know it's your thread but it's always nice WIPs!

Yep. It's my thread. So therefore I can definitely ask you to post renders of your work.

Unfortunately, the starter morphs are a separate deal. They are reduced in price to $14.95 right now. I had a heart to heart with the wife and agreed that she could buy a karaoke machine for Mother's Day, and I can get the morphs for Father's Day. So she gets a $500 machine and I get $14.95 toys that will bring me thousands of $ worth of joy.

Oh, and you don't need the starter morphs unless you are going to try something like I am working on. Most of the Supergirl images were done without those morphs; only the base morphs. But if you get SE, she has another figure in the package called Dawn Special Edition Character. She is the one I have been using to do the Supergirl outfit. She has 3 unique face morphs built in.

I picked up Jenny for Dawn at the same time as I picked up the other morphs. I haven 't tried them out yet because I was so amazed at how exotic she looks. Wow. Just wow....

I am going to bed. It's 1AM here. Again.

I don't have a lot of hair for Dawn, and while the ponytail kind of fit her, the heroic hair didn't really go well with her features. So I took Alyson's P8 hair and changed the red to black. She is wearing a dress I literally modeled in 2 minutes. I just wanted to cover her up for the render.
I am rendering her whole body as we speak, uh, I mean as I type....
