OUCH!!!

Well I just checked Acro Reader, and you CAN create a PDF with it, but it's "online". IOW, probably using their Cloud services. I don't think I'd want to do that.

OK, I just remembered something, but I've never done it myself. Do you happen to have Microsoft Word on your computer? If so, you can Save As to .PDF format, and you can set up images in Word, that I've done for work a few times, though it's been a while since I've done that.

Hmm.... I don't have MS word, but I do have Kingsoft office. That method didn't work for this because of the size of the images. The images either get cut off (very bad!) or else I have to scale them down to suit the page (also VERY BAD since these have to be distributed at their full size).

The trouble is these images are 11 x 8.5 inches in size - which is what they need to be for printing. So I can't just scale them down and squeeze them into an MS Word or Kingsoft word document. :/

I'll keep digging... it's kind of annoying that six weeks of work and the only thing holding it up is having a viable way to give the whole mess to the guy waiting for it. Argh! LOL

Hmmmmm, I would think that would be a standard size for a Word document. I certainly always printed non-court documents on that size paper. Then again, of course, printed documents have a 1" margin all around, where images might not. I wonder if you could get the whole image in if you change the margins to 0.

I used to have Open Office on my old laptop years ago, but haven't tried Kingsoft, so don't know how different it is. This puppy came with the MS suite, though only Word and Excel were still usable after the first month, unless you paid for it.

Anyway, I'm off here for the night. If I think of anything else, I'll let you know tomorrow, unless you come up with something in the meantime.

Choice! Bet you're happy to have THAT finished :D

Yeah... I just wish I could explain to a university librarian who is used to receiving EVERYTHING in .pdf files that.. well.. trying to print images that way does NOT really work as well as he thinks. And oh yeah, that the pdf is gonna be WAY too big for your email, Sir... LOL :D

I am uploading the stuff to my webspace, and I'll give him download links in the email. No way this stuff is going to fit in an email! The pdf file is over 90megs! LOL

Evening folks. Glad you were able to get the PDF created Seliah. I'm going to have to check out that app, because you never know when I'll need it. ;)

It worked very well for me. Now, trying to explain to a university librarian how to download from a Dropbox link.... not so much.... took me literally two hours of back and forth with him in email trying to walk him through how to do it... LOL

He isn't very computer savvy. I would have preferred to just hand him a dongle/thumbdrive, but he works about 1.5 hrs away from where I live... and that's by car.

Hopefully he got the file. If he didn't, then I'll just have my Bear give him the thumbdrive on Sunday! LOL

But phew! At least the dang book is done finally!
