I am SO glad you're back!

...you're stuffed? Nope, you'll sort it :) I thought I read Miss B saying she did UVing in Blender. May be wrong of course, often am.

I can't remember exactly, but I think you are right. Blender is just too hard for my feeble mind to figure out how to use. 3DS Max isn't much easier, but I am making headway. There are A LOT of tutorials out there for it. I just watched one on my lunch break, but it's for a version beyond what I have. This one was given to me by a guy who updated to that version. He had never installed it, and it has a lifetime license, so I scored. Now I just have to learn it. I tried to use the UVW unwrap a little, but I didn't do it right. I am going to try later. One thing I noticed right away is that things from Poser imported in there are really tiny. I may have to scale my model up to get it to where I can see it and then scale it back down later.

Oh Blender's the same way, and so is Silo. I have to zoom all the way in to see anything in both those apps.

I don't know why they do that. Well with Blender it's probably because the camera is set up to render a whole scene, whereas Silo can't do that.

I suspect 3DS Max is the same way, and I'm sure Maya is too, though I haven't gotten to model anything of substance in it yet. ;)

Blender imports (and Poser exports) objs items in unit scale. Poser exports in poser units, so V4 is about 0.8 PNU. So in my case (Blender units is meters) V4 is about 80cm. If Blender units is cm or inches you will have very tiny figures. As far as I remember, you can set scale on import in Max and not so shure about Maya.

I wasn't exporting from Poser, only importing a suit I made for Poser. I got it figured out in Max. I took it back into Wings and scaled it up 1000%, then imported that into Max. The results are forthcoming. I managed to get a decent UV map that I am rendering. Later on I am going to take it back in there because I noticed some stretching that I didn't see before. I know how to fix that now, so I am on course again.

I guess I might have talked above a few heads, sorry about that.

What I noticed was distortion in the textures after I applied them to the suit. The usual spots for this are around her breasts or other really curvy areas because on a UV map, those vertices tend to overlap each other and don't get properly mapped. It can be fixed by 'relaxing' the UV's so they map correctly and lay flat.

Thanks for the explanation, Rokket. Most things are above my head, I know so little about modelling. But I'm a good appreciater! I am so good at appreciating what others can do that NZ has entered me into the World Appreciating Tournament where I am expected to win a medal. I'm hoping for a gold.

My wife has to constantly mind me because I am generous like that. I would have given everything I own away if she didn't keep me in check. I am still like that, but after 20 years, I know now to check with her before I do anything she qualifies as stupid.

Haha! I'm so like that. Then I go "where IS that such and such, I know I had one?...DOH!" But it's nice to be generous...just not so generous you have no clothes to wear or bed to sleep in ;)

Or a car to drive, or a house to come home too.... yeah. But my wife's relatives love me. I think I am the reason she told them to stop coming for visits...;)

How's this?

I'll put together a composite of the whole suit as soon as I get the new boots done. I am still trying to figure out the style.

Do I do the standard boot she wore before the new 52, the version I have now, or do one like the new Supergirl TV series?
